Tails was born with two tails, and used them as helicopter type blades. I described that in About Tails. But that is not the only thing Tails can do. Tails can also attack, like Sonic, with his Spin Attack (jumping on the enemy). He also uses his two tails to do the Tails Attack in which he pounds his challengers with his tails. When Tails recieves the Rhythm Badge on Sonic Adventure, he can do the Rapid Tails Attack, which is like the Tails Attack but is continuous. On the mechanical side of things, he can also fly planes, build robots and man them.
