Navi Boss Guides |
| Here's a list of the boss Navis and strategies to delete them, arranged in alphabetical order. However, the game's final boss will always be listed at the bottom of the game's Navi boss list. |
| Megaman Battle Network |
| Navi | Owner/Operator | Reccomended Strategy |
| Bass | Unknown | Unknown |
| BombMan | Unknown | Sword and Navi chips do good here, because they can wipe out multiple bombs, giving you a chance to deal some extra damage to BombMan. BombMan never attacks directly, but instead kicks bombs into your side, as well as using an occasional Mine chip. The bombs explode in a plus formation, so standing in the right squares (or moving around a lot) will help you stay out of harm's way. The bombs can be destroyed on both sides of the field, but it takes a long time to do so, and the bombs go "BOOM!!" only a few seconds after BombMan kicks them. Try using Tower or HeroSwrd chips when you've got a clear shot at BombMan, and Navi chips when his bombs are in the way. He should go "BOOM!!" himself in a short time with this strategy. :) |
| ColorMan | Madd | ColorMan comes with two invincible helpers who do 90% of his job for him. These helpers move up and down, firing Fire/Aqua Towers at you. Use Steal chips to help get them out of the way. Sometimes ColorMan will use that big ball he sits on on as a weapon, dropping it in your side and making it follow you, like a Bubbler or Heater does. You can get this ball out of the way by letting it hit you or making ColorMan reel. Navi chips are certainly a good thing to have here. Simply blast away and use chips every once in a while, and he should fall soon enough. |
| ElecMan | Count Zap | ElecMan moves around a lot, but fortunately he dosen't move as fast as some common viruses do. He's got two primary attacks, and he always charges up before launching them. He often places electric pylons on your side of the grid, and other times he sends lightning bolts down in sets of four (the squares flash before lightning hits them, so stay away from the flashing ones). Destroying one pylon destroys them all, but you can also destroy them by making ElecMan reel. When ElecMan gets low on HP, he'll usually set up some pylons on his side and charge between them (sorta like how Dynamo Man does it in Rockman & Forte). he won't move while he's charging, so use this time to launch WoodMan and WoodTowr chips (instead of Electrical-based enemies being weak to Aqua-based attacks, it's the other way around in this game, and Electrical-based enemies are weak to Wood-based attacks instead). |
| FireMan | Mr. Match | FireMan has three primary attacks. One, he'll send a row of fire down your side, so move up or down to dodge this. Two, he'll launch fire that moves in a snake-like pattern (example: left, up, left, up, left, down). Three, he'll launch three bombs on your side of the grid that temporarily set panels on fire. FireMan's very fast in comparison to other Navis, so wait for him to use an attack before using a chip, and use your buster whenever he's not launching attacks. |
| GutsMan | Dex | GutsMan will often send a shockwave down one row, like the Metools do. He'll also smash one row, cracking normal panels and destroying cracked ones. If you're standing near GutsMan's side of the grid, he'll often appear in front of you and punch you, dealing massive damage as well as knocking you back one tile ("OWWW!! MY FACEEEE!! CALL THE PARAMEDICS!!"). Use lotsa Navi chips here, and fire charged shots a lot, and you'll be fine here. |
| IceMan | Dr. Froid | You'll want to have a have a Steal chip ready here. IceMan usually sets up three ice blocks which work as barriers to block most of your attacks, then throws a snowball at you, which send out pillars of ice. If you get hit by the pillars this snowball produces, you'll end up frozen for several seconds (repeatedly push A and B to free yourself quicker). Other times he'll make an ice block and kick it to the back of your side, which can smash another ice block if there's already one in the row he's about to kick it to. In this game, Ice-based enemies are treated as Aqua-based ones, and thus aren't weak to Fire-based attacks, so let's hope you got some Electrical-based chips, which you most likely don't have at this point in the game (unless you traded some chips with your friends). Try using Navi chips and Bombs/Quakes here; they won't get blocked by IceMan's ice blocks. |
| MagicMan | Yahoot | MagicMan has three disks on his side of the grid. He stands on one and makes random common viruses on the other two. Because of this, the battle can range from "I can do this in my sleep!" to "Where are the stupid Recov chips when I need 'em?!" Other than that, MagicMan's only attack is sending fire down one row, like SkullMan does. After defeating MagicMan, your save feature will be disabled, so be sure to take the program's advice and save before the battle. |
| NumberMan | Mr. Higsby | NumberMan is the easiest boss in the game, and he never moves from his tile, so take it easy here. NumberMan starts out this battle by repeatedly launching orbs in sets of three, each with a number on them representing their HP (look for the ones you can destroy in less than five hits). Don't worry about destroying all of the orbs, the ones you don't destroy just simply end up off the edge of the screen where they can't hurt you. Later in the battle, he'll start placing time-bombs and dice on your side of the grid. Destroy these immediately. While waiting for NumberMan to throw his next attack at you, nail him with everything you got. Simple as that. |
| PharoahMan | Unknown | PharoahMan's attack pattern does seem closely related to ColorMan's. He moves up and down, dropping a coffin on your side that can do lotsa damage (provided you decide to take the risk of standing in front of it). The coffins have two attacks (did I miss any?). First, they'll do the laser thing that StoneMan and the LifeVirus do. Second, they will send out little magnet-like things, kinda like the Rattons do, but these ones can only turn if they pass a PharTrap. One of PharoahMan's favorte attacks is PharTrap, an attack that changes one of your tiles into a bad place to stand on. |
| ProtoMan | Chaud | The first few times around, this battle can be hard. But one you learn his strategy, it's a piece of cake. ProtoMan will often warp around from tile to tile, setting up his shield in-between warpings. Sometimes he'll use his sword, which can be either long or wide. When he charges up, he's about to hit you with a WideSwrd, so always stand in the middle or rightmost column of your side, then move back one column when he uses his WideSwrd. ProtoMan does have Steal chips, but the only way to make him use them is by using one of your own. Navi chips help here, but can only be used if ProtoMan's shield is down. |
| ShadowMan | Unknown | Speed is the key thing to have here. ShadowMan moves very quickly, so wait for him to stop and then hit him with a Navi chip. ShadowMan often throws Shadow Blades at you in sets of three. Avoid these the way you would avoid ElecMan's Thunder Bolts, only a lot more quickly. He'll also make two clones of himself. Just shoot at the clones until they disappear. Sometimes ShadowMan will send a shockwave down one row. Just move around a lot and stop to launch attacks, and everything should be fine here. |
| SharkMan | Masa | This battle is HARD! There's three fins that move up and down SharkMan's side that dash at you. Keep shooting at the fins until the real SharkMan pops up, then try to hit him with some chips while avoiding the Aqua Tower he launches. Repeat this strategy, and this "Great White" will soon be crying for his mommy. Here's an easy way to defeat him (requires Anubis chip): Lay down an Anubis in the top or bottom row (NOT on SharkMan's side) and stay in the two opens rows while dodging the fins. While you're busy dodging, the Anubis chip spreads poison all over SharkMan's side, hitting him automatically. |
| SkullMan | Miyu | SkullMan will usually warp from tile to tile and fire a slow-moving fireball at you. Be careful when he launches his arms, because those things keep on spinning around until they hit you, but you can destroy both of them early by making SkullMan reel. He'll also drop his head on one tile, but unfortunately this attack can't destroy his arms if they're where his head's gonna land. Just dodge the stuff he throws at you (easier said than done), and you'll be fine. |
| StoneMan (Gok Gok) | Unknown | It's obvious that this guy's volcabulary is small; he only knows the word "Gok", which isn't even a real word to begin with. StoneMan will often place a barrier on your side, then drop three rocks which can be avoided by watching the shadows. He'll also stick his arms in the ground, which pop up randomly and fire laser beams at you. StoneMan, like NumberMan, never moves. |
| WoodMan | Saloma | WoodMan will jump from tile to tile, causing dangerous wood pillars to rise from the ground when he lands. He'll also toss seeds, which can be one of two things, 1) Pillars of wood that shoot up in snake-like patterns (like FireMan), or 2) A tree that WoodMan can use to recover HP by stomping on it. |
| The LifeVirus | Dr. Wily | Talk about hard! The LifeVirus has a shield that he lowers during attacks, but can be brought down early by using an attack that does at least 100 damage. However, the shield regenreates when he finishes his attack. The LifeVirus has three main attacks. First, he'll swipe at you with a sword. Move to the back row to avoid this. Second, he will shoot a laser beam. Third, if his HP is below 500, he will use a meteor attack. He also makes these bug-like creatures appear from the holes. They each can be destroyed, and use an elemental attack (red's Fire, green's Wood, yellow's Electric, blue's Aqua). After a long, hard and tedious battle, the LifeVirus will be defeated and the WWW HQ will blow up (oops, just gave away some of the ending). |
