Welcome to the Eldar Tactics page. Here you can access army types for Eldar as a whole and tactics for two individual Craftworlds: Saim-Hann and Biel-Tan

ELDAR ARMY TYPES
Eldar are an ancient race, thier technology far surpasses the flimsy lasweapons of the Imperium. If used correctly, Eldar can be used in many ways. For example, the fast, versatile Falcon Grav Tank may be used to transport troops to the battle scene, rather than wasting valuable turns moving them on foot. Up to 6 men may be carried within a Falcon, with the exceptions of Avatars, Wraithlords, Wraithguard or any squad containing an anti-grav platform. You may wish to have an army that relies on high firepower units such as Dark Reapers, Ramgers or a War Walker Squadron.
Another type of army is that of the Aspect. These are warriors which have been trained in one certain way of battle. For example, the Striking Scorpions are specialised in close range attack with their Mandiblasters and close combat weapons, while the deadly Dark Reapers are skilled at taking down targets with a blow of their Reaper Launchers. Aspect Squads have their leaders, the Exarchs. The Exarchs are war veterans, knowing nearly everything there is to know about their way af war.
Another type of army altogether is a fast army, mainly comprised of Guardian Jetbike squads, with the Shining Spear Aspect Warriors and Exarchs. This type of army is good for making quick attacks with the twin-linked Shuriken Catapults of the Jetbikes, then using the Hit And Run rule to duck behind cover. Besides these types, there are five types of army with their own colour scheme and special rules. These are called Craftworlds. For copyright reasons we cannot print the special rules, but we can give you a rough idea of what special units each Craftworld uses and some battle plans for those Craftworlds as well.

SAIM-HANN CRAFTWORLD TACTICS
The Saim-Hann Craftworld relies on Fast Attack units such as Guardian Jetbike squads and Shining Spear Aspect Warriors. Below is a picture of my converted Warlock Jetbike, in whitch I cut the torso off of a Warlock and used superglue to fix it to an ordinary pair of Jetbiker's legs and used Green Stuff for the flowing cape.

Jetbikes are renouned for their ability to use their twin-linked Shuriken Cannons to mow down the enemy before using their great speed to dive behind cover, ready for the next assault. One of the main assets of the Jetbike it's 3+ save. The Jetbike can also be customised so that it has a Shuriken Cannon instead of it's two twin-linked Shuriken Catapults.
The special unit of the Saim-Hann is the Wild Rider. These are Jetbikes with close combat weapons so that they are equally good at taking enemy units down in close combat and firing at them from range with their Shuriken Catapults. All the normal benefits and retrictions apply to the Jetbikes. In any army that takes the rules of a Saim-Hann Warhost, you must have two fast attack units as standard, instead of two Troops units. Below is a typical Saim-Hann Warhost Army with three Fast Attack choices (Jetbikes, Shining Spears and Vyper Jetbike), one HQ choice (Avatar),

BIEL-TAN CRAFTWORLD TACTICS
The Biel-Tan rely on a bulk of infantary and Aspect Warriors to overporwer the enemy. Andrew's main tactic is to pummell the enemy with a massive squad of 20 Defender Guardians, which can lay down 40 strength 4 shots in one shooting phase (see our Battle Report for evidence of this...). OUCH!!
Another Biel-Tan tactic is to use jetbikes to outflank the enemy army and to rain down a hail of Shuriken fire from the rear. Jetbikes are also very useful in combat. The attackers find it very difficult to hit the jetbikes as you have to roll a six to even hit them, let alone wound. Then there are the 3+ armour saves! Swooping Hawks can sometimes replace the jetbikes as Andrew's Fast Attack choice, as the hawks are cheaper in points and have a better leadership value.
Andrew's Falcon and Fire Prism always stay back and provide supporting fire from the back of his army. His Farseer (very annoyingly...) has this receding habit of disabling other psykers' abilities thanks to the Runes of Warding.
