                                       The Space marines of my galaxy are indeed the same bio engineered warriors to be found in GW's warhammer 40k. I love the 6mm figures and the ideas behind them. I have maintained the idea of chapters but organised them along regular military lines. They are an elite branch of the army rather than independent religious units as in WH40K. Golgotha has one resident chapter. They are the "Sons of the dead earth". It's base is in the Golgotha sub sector in the Adams rib system and is a mobile asteroid fortress. Following the destruction of Earths population in the pre imperial period, the planet Eden was settled by devotees of the green earth party. Their love of the original homeworld gave them an unbending allegiance to the Emperor and made them a natural recruitment pool for the marines. This devotion to the cause was so strong that the imperium agreed to the forming of the new chapter that now has a history spanning eight millennia. When the Spiral rebelled, the chapter stayed true to the Emperor. This was important strategically as the system contains the only warp link to the Gethsemane sub-sector, a source of fresh reinforcements for the insurrection.    

              The chapter has thirteen companies which are organised as follows:-

Chapter HQ: Command units and sundry support elements. This also contains any titans the chapter may own.

Armoured company  Land raider equipped hard hitting tank company-----------------------------------------------

support company ; Various sections of light support vehicles based on the ubiquitous rhino.-----------

artillery company.  Multi role light artillery unit again based on the rhino.-------------------------------------------

Recon company; Self contained reconnaissance unit based on bikes and landspeeders------------------

3 X Assault companies; Multi role company with specialist heavy weapon and assault trained troops

6 X Tactical companies; Standard grunts. Go kill go defend. The Guts of the marines.------------------------

These are normally organised in 3 battle groups of one assault and two tactical companies to which the support company elements are allocated as necessary.   However all companies are expected to operate as individual self contained combat units.
