Adeptus Arbites

We don't make the law we simply uphold it!

ADEPTUS ARBITES

The Adeptus Arbites are the keepers of the Imperium's laws and watchdogs of the far-flung empire of humanity. Rebellion and defiance of the Imperial will are Crimes Against Humanity. The Arbitrators are the grim and uncompromising reminder of the Imperium's presence which no planetary governor can ignore. They cannot be bought off or threatened or corrupted or negotiated with. Indeed the Adeptus Arbites goes to a great lengths to ensure that those recruited into their ranks do not serve on their own homeworlds nor anywhere within a dozen light years of home. They do not communicate with the citizenry unless absolutely necessary and only leave their great fortress-precincts on official business.

Should a planet revolt against the Imperium the Arbitrators will be the first to go into battle against the traitors. More often than not a rebellious governor will order the destruction of the Adeptus Arbites precinct on his planet as his first treachery and a great battle will break out between rebel planetary defence forces and the besieged Arbites. The one-sided struggle of a few hundred against an entire world should not last long and the result would seem inevitable but the Judges are well trained in their task and always ready. Mobile fleets of Arbitrators stand in constant readiness to answer the call of their precincts and bring retribution upon the transgressors of the Emperors laws. Beyond them the entire might of the Imperium can be called upon with Space Marine Chapters and the Imperial Guard prepared to quell the fiercest rebellion.

The ship is an enforcer is service with the Adeptus Arbites

                         In the rim sectors, the Adeptus Arbites are the equivalent of the imperial police force. They are responsible for controlling criminal activities, slave trading and in conjunction with the Interplanetary revenue service (IRS) for controlling piracy and smuggling.  Ships of the Arbites are often paired with IRS ships.

Enforcer

class cruiser

adar8.JPG (33007 bytes)

   The Enforcer class is thought to be pre heresy and is unusual in that its attack craft are launched through a tube in the prow. The prow is also of note for its circular form ringed with torpedo launch tubes. As a result It also lacks the armoured prow so typical of Imperial vessels. It is equpped with a squadron of fighters and a squadron of assault boats essential to its ability to pursue and capture enemy vessels .

The model owes it's origin to the article by Jesse Schoof & Chris Waddell in BFG mag 10 re the Punisher class Strike cruiser. Now I liked the idea of an Arbites ship and wanted one for Golgotha but the model they described was very similar to the Interplanetary Revenue cutter (IRS) I built a few years ago. I had some bits that Bob Henderson sent me and a few ideas I wanted to try, so I played around till the enforcer appeared.  The model is a dauntless hull with the prow removed and the weapons bay deepened to take plastic cruiser WB's. I removed the dauntless engines and added metal ones from an imperial GC, used a bridge from the sam source. The "wings are heavily modified plastc ones with added blast shields decorated with some sigils Bob supplied. The prow also came from Bob but I don't have a clue what it is. I added some tube to the prow for a launch tube. The turret again came from Bob but again i don't know what it is..

I have provided some unpainted photos as a guide to construction.
