History: The Xbox is made by a newcomer to the video game market, Microsoft. Many people questioned Bill Gates when he announced that Microsoft will be making a video game system, but when it was released, all the questions were answered. This system has some of the best graphics available, and some of the most popular games out, such as Halo and Project Gothem Racing. This system also features a hard drive, which allows the player to copy music onto their Xbox and play it as background music. The hard drive also eliminates the need for a memory card, since gamers can have, literaly, a few thousand game saves at one time on the hard drive. The Xbox also has a built in DVD player, which lets players watch movies on their Xbox.
The only downside to the Xbox is the controllers. Some people find the controllers too large and oddly shaped. Microsoft fixed this problem by releasing a smaller version of the controller, called the Controller S.
Xbox also has built-in broadband internet capabilities right out of the box. That means that as soon as you hook up a Xbox, it is ready to go online and play against other people.
With the battle for popularity between the three major systems out right now, Playstation 2, GameCube, and Xbox, this system is a worthy contender.
