When the great Shigeru Miyamoto was just a child, he was forbidden to go to a cave near his home. But Young Miyamoto was curious to enter that cave, yet he was always too scared to enter. One dark night, Miyamoto grabbed a lamp and sneaked out of his house. He sucked up his courage and entered...
Shigeru Miyamoto based Zelda off of that experience. The premise wasn't supposed to be an adult killing monsters, but a child facing his fears. If you look really closely, the way that the monsters fall into that pit in the first Zelda movie at SW 2001 is similar to the way monsters fall in holes in A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening. Also, the N64's hardware could allow Miyamoto's vision of Zelda to be projected perfectly, so he did what he could. He also admitted that Ocarina of Time was a slight mistake on his part. However, with the technology of Cartoon-Shading (I like to call it that) and the Gamecube hardware, Miyamoto could actually envision his idea emulated perfectly in video game format. Also, you may think that the new Zelda has bad graphics, but we think it's the exact opposite. For one thing, look at all the emotions that Link and everyone else displays. Happiness, fear, anger, everything. And look how smoothly the characters move. Criticize me all you want, but I think that these graphics are much better than the SW2000 ones. In fact, these are the best graphics I've ever seen!
Another thing. This is SHIGERU MIYAMOTO working on this project. Has he made a bad game? If it were someone else overseeing this project, I wouldn't believe it either, but Miyamoto-san is an artist. Artists are not appreciated in their own time. But all I know is that this game looks excellent, and I'll have my copy when it's out in February!
