At first glance the Gameboy Advance may look like a slightly enhanced Gameboy Color. It is in fact more than that. I have no idea what the exact specs of this system are because I don't bother memorizing them (that's what Adil's here for), but I can tell you a few of the more obvious features of the GBA. First of all, the system is made to be held lengthwise, unlike the original Gameboy/Gameboy Color. The screen is larger in width and the system can work with more colors at once than its predecessor could. Unfortunately, the screen is still dark, with no internal lightning option. You can get one installed, but the GBA doesn't come with it. Yet in order to make up for that, there's the higher volume. The GBA plays nearly twice as loud as the GB/GBC does.

The linking system works slightly differently than the one for the GB/GBC. Up to four players can link up together using 1-3 GBA link cables and play games such as Mario Advance 1, 2, and 3, Mario Kart, and Sonic Advance, just to name a few. For some games, only one cartridge is required for four players, but there aren't as many options as there would be if each player linked up had a their own cartridge (of the same game).
