The educational benefits of chess have been
documented for years. Not only is chess a
constructive and thought-provoking form of
entertainment, it also helps develop your
creativity, analytical and decision-making
skills, concentration and memory.
If your school, church, or organization is
looking for someone to teach chess or lead an
extracurricular chess club, Ed Zelkind Chess has
the program for you.
Whether exploring chess basics and opening
theory, or end game and middle game strategies,
your class participants will learn and appreciate
this complex game (and art!) known as chess. And
of course, Ed's chess program will allow plenty
of time for games so that participants can
experiment with their newly learned tactics and
strategies.

Experience Counts Ed
Zelkind has led chess classes and clubs for
Independent School District (ISD) 191, Blake
School, Eden Prairie Schools, and many others
Minnesota organizations over the past 15 years.
In fact, in 1987, ISD 191 in Burnsville believed
in the educational value of chess so much that
they appointed Ed Zelkind as Chess Master in
Residence, a position he still holds today.
