Now this game is a classic. It has been over 16 years since this game was released and I still find myself coming back to it from time to time.

Graphics: At the time, these graphics were wonderfull. But compared to the later NES games you could really see its age. You can still figure out what everything is though. A goomba looks like a goomba and a mushroom looks like a mushroom. The graphics were seriously improved in the the sequel and even more so in Mario 3. But we are talking about this game here. The graphics wont blow you away unless you are Geramoo Rodhorser who still only plays his Atari 2600. 7/10

Sound: Classic Mario overworld theme! The music is great. Everyone knows how this theme goes. Or at least everyone should anyway. The underwater theme and the castle theme are also done quite nicely. The underground theme is also quite good but undergoes a long pause everytime it loops. It loops a lot more than it should because the theme is really short. The other sounds in the game is the fireball shooting, goomba stomping, Bowser falling, and strange jumping sounds. Not as annoying as you might think. 9/10

How Fun Is It?:

The Fruit: One must wonder how a game became so good despite the total lack of any fruit. As a matter of fact, I there is nothing that even resembles any fruit anywhere here. Hard core fruit lovers will be very disapointed with this game. 1/10

Final Score: 10/10

Although not the best of the Mario games, this is still one of the best.
