Blast Corps

Released in 1997

Object of the game:To stop a nuclear missile carrier from raming into anything by demolishing anything in its path.

Aw man, another world disaster...

This game can be adicting to play if you give it a try but it dosent last very long.Fortunatly,it has more things to do that just blowing stuff up.But who dosent like to blow things up?Becides blowing things up,you can participate in mini games and race around in diffrent cars.

The main game is nothing more that the carrier on a collision course that just happens to be in front of every type of building imaginable. As part of the Blasts Corps Team, your job is to blow up every building in its path because it the carrier were to ram into anything well...lets just say it would be the end of the world. You get a nice explosion though,BOOOOOOM!!!!

The diffrent veicles of destruction come in can cause serious damage to hardly being able to knock over a couple of cans.In other words, all veicles of destruction are capable of doing damage, but some are better that others though.

The mini games that you play are weird. They are weird to the point when you would swear that I had some design in them. From shoving crates of TNT into the pockets of a giant pool table in outer space to lighting up lights called RDUs in a Pacman style maze while huge trucks try to run you over. These levels are fun,and are a good distraction from the rest of the game.

The racing segments are not as good though. You race by yourself around a patheticaly easy track trying to beat your best time. The only plus about this is that you get some cool veicles to ride around in.Such as the police car.You can turn on the siren!Wow!This game just gets better and better!

Becides cars and more cars with weapons attached to them, you also get to blow stuff up with robots.Thats right.Robots.All the robots are more powerful than the veicles of destruction, and some are hidden are some levers. If you want to easily beat that level, then I suggest you find the robot if he is in there.

Along the way,you will come across some scientists. These scientists claim that they can safely detonate the carrier. You have to find these 6 scientists to beat the game but they are not that hard to find.

Yes, I do like to blow stuff up

Graphics:The graphics are good for an early N64 game and the explosions are nice too.Everything has some graphical quality to it.But the graphics are nothing compared to other games around that time, like Goldeneye.7/10

Sound:The sound is good too.But it can get annoying. The banjo theme is good but the select your level music is something gone very wrong. That music is just plain bad with a touch of an anoying person constintaly saying"Time to get moving!"The rest of the music is not that good.6/10

Control:I wish I could say that the control was perfect, but it is not.Controlling the veicles takes time to perfect and learning to drive with the stick is harder.I suggest you use the D-pad for this. The robots are much better, but some bounus games require you to manuver one of the giant robots as you fly to a little spot in the middle of the ocean. If you were to land in the ocean, you would die.The hard control will make you fall in almost every time.Landed on it?Good. Now do the other 7.Next,do it in under a certian time limit.5/10

How fun is it?:This can be very fun if you give it a try.But you have to start a new game or you will get frustrated. This game does not have an option to erase itself unless you do something special before you turn it on,or if you have a controller pack. But no sleepless nights here.8/10

Fruit:I have seen no fruit in this game yet and I doubt there is some.If you are looking for a game with fruit in it,this is not it.1/10

Final Score:8/10

KABOOM!!!

Rent it.You will have some fun. There might be some places where you could buy it real cheap. But this is an old game that no one really knows about so you would be better off just renting it.But you will have some fun.Beleve me.Dont you trust me?Maybe not,but my loyal folowers have no choice.HA HA HA!!!
