Phantasy Star Online Vs. Sonic Adventure 2Both are very different games. Both are made by Sonic Team. But what game is better?
Phantasy Star OnlineThe fact that there is no Gusman Star Online yet. There was a Gusman Adventure 2, Gusman Star Online.. This is too bad because uh... well it is just too bad. People have been saying that it will come out Gusman day, but as of now, nobody knows when that is... -1
Online Mulitplayer:The online mulitplayer of PSO makes for one hell of a DC experience. That is if you have a keyboard that it. But if you do, then prepare to face a world of monsters and meet new people and gameshark lamers. The freaks that you meet online are weird people. The other night I played a game that included a big blue robot named CookieMonster that ran around firing off his gun and yelling,"Me want cookie!". I told him many times that fruit was better, but he would not listen. This, and many other freaks, can be found only in the world of online PSO. +1
Boring single player adventure:Yep, this game has a single player adventure. *Yawn* The single player or offline mode just makes you fall asleep. It is because online mode is so much better even though it is the same game, but in online. The single player mode is the only way to advance in the story though. Too bad... -1
Free Demo of SA2Now we are talking! The demo of SA2 included in PSO is much more than a demo you see... Well, maybe not. In the demo you get the first level of SA2 while you play as Sonic. This demo was released about 5 months before SA2 was so you can spot changes they made in those 5 months. They may not seem like much at all, but to me it is. It is also way harder to get an "A" ranking without the bounce bracelet or light speed dash. But the demo itself rules with a hidden trailer for the game inside. +1 Gameshark LamersGameshark Lamers really suck. It is a good thing that Version 2 will detect those things and not let them in the online mode. How bad are Gamesharkers? Well, if you piss them off they could freeze your game. They think they are so good and powerfull with their infinite health, magic and items. While playing with one I noticed my item list was busting with rare items and new powerfull weapons. It was cool, but is was really, really CHEAP!!! Something else about Gamesharkers is that they like to be incredebly evil. Here are 2 bad experiences with the worse of the worse. Someone aproached me and killed me in one hit, stole my weapon and complained that I had no money with me. Okaaaaay.... Someone froze all of us in place and said that we would be able to move again only if we droped all our money, weapons, items, and mags. Nobody did, but that was just evil. -1
No Real StoryThis game has no real story. Sure, there is the thing with Pioneer 1 losing contact with everyone and all, but there is no story compared to other RPGs. Online, this game could be completed in any order if your levels are strong enough. I played a tough boss the other night and found out that is was super strong because it was the last boss. A level 6 was in there too. Crazy the way this game can be played eh? Because of this, story is incredebly weak.-1
If You Are Lame Enough To Lose Your Serial Number and Access KeyHonestly, if you lose you serial number and access key, do you deserve to have the game? You only type it in once when you get the game and never have to do it again. I laugh out loud to the people who have ever done this. There will always be one person, which is a sad sad person indeed. -1
Symbol ChatThis is what PSO calls emoticons. The symbol chat is cool. You can get a little happy faced guy over your head. Or an angry face. Everyone knows how this works. PSO even gives an option to create your own emoticons. So far what I have created is complete crap, but I see other users with some nice stuff. must resist urge to steal idea... +1 Sonic Adventure 2You would think Sonic's 10th aniversary game would be his best ever right? While this game is very good, there are a few problems with it.
The camera is bad...The high speed action thrill rides of Sonic and Shadow's levels hardly have bad camera at all. Only if you have no clue what you are doing and bump into a lot of walls will you have problems. This rarely happens though. The shooting mech levels of Tails and Eggman have some bad camera, but still nothing much. When we get to the searching levels of Knuckles and Rouge well... then we get major problems. The camera for the searching levels are bad. Very very bad. Sometimes death happens because you could not see where you were. I have to take a point off because of this. -1
Downloadable eventsAlthough yoou can't play online, SA2 does have an internet option. From there, you can enter the SA2 website and check out a few hints to help finish you game, chat with other SA2 maniacs, or even download new features for SA2. The downloads, as of this time, consist of character voices where you have the option of listening to Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles talk to you during the game options. They have anoying voices though. For instance, when you pick the Kart Race mode and have Tails voice option mode on, Tails blurts out "Kart Racing! My favorite!" in such an anoying voice that you never want to hear it again. Knuckles' voice is not much better either. Sonic has the best voice of the 3, but takes time getting used to. You can also download new Kart tracks and karts to play in single or mulitplayer mode. I have yet to see a new Kart track that catches my intrest. Fantasy Zone is not much and the High Speed Trial track is nothing more than your simple oval. The last thing you can download are rare Chao from the "Black Market". Seems like cheating to me, but downloading them costs precious emblems... The internet feature is nothing compared to the online play of PSO, but still adds something cool to the game. It is nice to see that you can always play something new on a game that you though you have done everything there was to do. You can always download new things. As long as you have enough blocks of memory and Sonic Team updates with new downloads... +1
Numerous references to PSOThere sure is a lot of PSO stuff in the game. When fighting the first boss as Sonic, move around the battlefield and look at one of the billboards to find an advertisement for PSO. But it does not stop there. In mulitplayer, Sonic and Shadow have alternate costumes taken stright out of, you guessed it, PSO. +1
The Music:You either love it or hate it. If you never listened to it of course you are going to think it is anoying. But after you hear it well, it is a whole other story. From the rockin' tunes of Sonic, to the rap of Knuckes, all the way down to the EGGMAN song. The drowning voice heard in Shadow's music is very cool indeed. You will love it even though you wont understand a word he is saying. Also, there is a big demand for Sega to release the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack in the U.S. I did not make that up. +1 The High Speed Rush of Sonic and ShadowPlaying Sonic and Shadows levels are what makes this game so fun. Breathtaking graphics and speed make you want more. It is a shame that there are only 10 of these levels total (6 for Sonic and 4 for Shadow) but the pure feeling you get after completing one of their levels for the first time has never happened to me in PSO.+1
10th Aniversary GlorySonic Team tried to make the best Sonic ever for the 10th anniversary. They did not. It was still one hell of a game though. But because of the extra features and 3D version of the first Sonic level ever, something I doubt they would have included if not for the 10 years, the game almost seems slightly better than it is even if that makes no sence at all whatsoever.+1 The Final VerdictI have no idea. If you add up the numbers for SA2 it gives you 4 and if you add up PSO it gives you -2. That means that this thing was almost pointless and total crap. But what else would you expect for a site that bacically is... well... crap. You figure out the winner. PSO, with its online mode, will last longer than SA2. That is if you can get past with all the users with cheating devices.
