At
the start of the 23rd century AD, Earth and nine other worlds had
developed the technology and built the ships needed to colonize other worlds.
Each homeworld’s population had grown so large that new resources were needed
to support everyone. Soon after this expansion began, contact was made with
other races that were competing for the same star systems. Reckless expansionism
combined with military aggression soon had the whole galaxy at war. To break the inevitable stalemates of war and to overcome enemy alliances, the
10 races would seek for new weapons and devices to give them an edge. Technology
was the key to survival. All the warring races had one hope in mind, however; to
find the legendary planet called Orion.
This world was said to have numerous secrets and terrible weapons that would
give victory to those who possessed them. Every
race had stories of ancient times when a single race had controlled the galaxy.
This Master
race (also called the Ancients, Ancient Ones, or Orions) ruled from the planet
the loremasters called Orion. The legends said that the ruler of Orion would be
the ruler of the universe. But a very few also knew another story, one that
spoke of the deadly war machines that the Masters used to defend themselves… |
