If you are new to Magic you probly are thinking how in the world do u play this game! Well I am going to tell you.

HOW TO PLAY MAGIC

To play magic you need to buy some cards at local card store or comic book store(I recomend getting a starter set because it comes with mana which you need to play the game). A deck of cards is usually around 60 cards made up of creatures, spells, and mana. To find out the step-by-step instructions on how to play the game click

THE BASICS OF SPELLS

First of all you need to know that a spell is every card in magic that is not a mana like: creatures, Instants, sorcerceries, and artifacts!

Every spell in magic has a casting cost.

The above picture shows you a casting cost for a spell(found in top right corner of any spell) .

The casting cost is made up of mana(Mana are cards which are found in a starter set. Mana looks like any other magic card, but it is a picture of a land and is used to pay the casting cost for a creature. I will explain mana a little later in the page.)

There are five different types of basic mana:

  • BLACK (skull)

  • Blue (water)

  • GREEN (tree)

  • WHITE (sun/star)

  • RED (fire)
  • To play a creature in the game you need to pay the mana cost by turning the mana sideways, this is known as tapping.

The picture above is paid by tapping 3 black mana, and 3 colorless mana (The colorless mana is represented by a gray circle with a number in it and can be paid with any of the five basic mana types instead of a spacific color!).

Now that you learned how to play spells lets learn how to use them

    1. CREATURES

A creature is a type of spell.

Every creature has a power and a toughness

The above picture shows the power and the toughness of a creature (The power and toughness are found in the bottom-right corner of a creature card)

The number on the left is the power and the number on the right is the toughness
