Storyline

It's obvious that this game has an AMAZING storyline. The twists and turns this game takes you through are one of a kind. You're sooo drawn in by this story. This game makes you feel every emotion, from sadness to happiness to anger to confusion, it's all here. This is one of the only games I know of that has actually killed one of the most important characters. I delayed going to the Sleeping Forest for months just so I didn't have to see Aeris die (and if I hadn't have known she would've, I would probably end up getting something in my eye). Plus, the ending is very amazing. The whole Vincent/Lucrecia/Hojo thing just blew me away as well.

Good Points: EVERYTHING
Bad Points: NONE (except they forgot the secret characters in the ending)
Storyline: 11/10

Characters

The best part about the characters is that the story tells you a little about the past of all of the characters, and most of their pasts are completely revealed. This subject always ties in with all the other subjects, so its hard to review characters without reviewing something else. The characters' super-deformed look just makes them all the more likeable. Also, the romance has always been one of my favorite parts of videogames, and this one shows a perfect example.

Good Points: The characters are given a good background that you learn, along with the other things listed above.
Bad Points: The few polygons used on the characters take much of the fun out of it. However, the CG cinemas eliminate some of this problem.

Graphics

Of course, graphics play a big role in vidoegames. While the FFVII graphics seem horrible now, they were once some of the best graphics around. I have no problem with graphics, I still enjoy FF5 and other old FFs. The CG cinemas, however, are STUNNING. The graphics of this game are still very good.

Good Points: CG cinemas are amazing.
Bad Points: Graphics seem outdated now.
Graphics: 8/10

Music

Personally, I think this music is amazing. I own the OST to this game, and I absolutely love it. One-Winged Angel, Aeris's Theme, Cosmo Canyon, Prelude, The Nightmare's Beginning, Interrupted by Fireworks, and World Crisis all stand out. Each song takes you back to a scene in the game, and you relive it, complete with all the emotions. Many people complain about how it's all synthesized, but I think it still sounds awesome. How it stands alone, however, I can't decide. Some people find it soothing, while others find it obnoxious.

Good Points: It's purely amazing.
Bad Points: Some people despise the synthesized songs, and some find the music obnoxious.
Music: 9/10

Controls

This has been a highly debated topic about FFVII. Personally, I think that they could have been better. The whole circle button thing just gets on my nerves. I still end up getting mad because I accidently cancelled (X) something that was important.

Good Points: The controls are still okay, and you can switch the circle button thing.
Bad Points: CIRCLE BUTTON!
Controls: 8/10

Overall

Overall, this game is a great game. Major problems to some people are the circle button's command, synthesized music, and graphics. Personally, I find it the best game ever.
