Here I have the cities that I have created for Rifts. The first one was used in one of my games and the second one is one I made up for the webpage here. I plan to make more towns and villages and add them as I make them.

MILITIA

There are also 50 men from the town who are being trained by the Head Hunters as well as by some of the retired adventurers who live in town. Although they are not part of the Militia, the town's retired adventurers will help defend it.
HISTORY
A group of survivalists and archaeologists and their families were on an expedition when they stumbled across the ruins of a building. They were running low on supplies and a lot of the hired guns had been killed by monsters from the rifts so they gave up on the expedition and decided to dig where the ruins of the building were. After months of excavation they discovered the buried ruins of a Liberal Arts College! Better yet, their also was an old warehouse full of equipment nearby! The ruins were filled with supplies, knowledge, and equipment. Realizing they could get rich and create their own community they settled down. Using their own money and selling some of the equipment and artifacts they got the funds needed to buy building supplies and built a small town. The town sat for there for 80 years and the other resources were discovered- the gold, lead, copper, etc. Only in the last year has it grown dramatically. This is because for some odd reason retired adventurers have started settling in the town, this has brought more people settling in and lots of merchants staying and opening up shop. In the last year the town has grown by 100 people! Even more surprising, the retired adventurer's have been pumping in some of their excess wealth to improve and develope the town. All of this has caused a mafia and a thieve's guild to form in the town, composed of the town's less virtuous citizens and shifty transients, (the leader of the mafia is Ri-Kay and the Thieve's Guild leader is Roey). The two temples in town have roughly a third of the townsfolk as members each, with the last third being of other faiths or atheists. The third most popular religion is the worship of Odin.

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY: Thieve's Guild
ARMY: Consists mainly of Headhunters and volunteers. The walls of the town are equipped with mounted missile launchers and laser turrets. A full 20% of the army is trained in sniping. Sometimes some of the citizens will volunteer to fight off agressors. They have 2 suits of Northern Gun Samson Power Armor NG-X9. The pilots are 4th level each. They also have 3 Sekhmet that arrived in a Rift and were stranded so they settled in and joined the army.
HISTORY: 50 Years ago Richard Hogan set up his weapons and armor shop near a trade route because it would give him more business. Over the years he built solar and hydro generators and built houses for his friends and old adventuring buddies. He also chose the location because there was a small lake nearby and he loved to fish. The location had plenty of forest around and that also influenced the choosing of the location because he loved to hunt. One of his old adventuring buddies built a tavern so they could have drinks and because he needed a source of income. One of his other buddies, (a Headhunter), built an arena so he could make cash from bets and watch fights. His Rogue Scholar friend made many copies of his books and made a library they could all use. All of this development attracted people who wanted a place to settle down that wasn't in the middle of nowhere. About 15 years after he founded the city he discovered caves beneath the city that had gems and crystals! He hired some soldiers and miners and set up a mine. The soldiers and miners he hired brought their families with them since it was a permanent job and this bolstered the growing communities population. 20 years after he founded the city Richard Hogan passed away and his oldest daughter took over the city. About this time several merchants were attracted to the city and so Lisa Hogan had a spectacular marketplace built to accompany them and any other passing merchants who wanted to hawk their wares. She hired some techs to take over her father's weapons/armor shop and hired a skilled operator to service the city. She also hired instructors and had a public school built. However, all this power had corrupted her and she became a cruel dictator. 10 year later when she died nobody mourned her and her son Alex took over as a benevolent dictator and vastly improved the economy and sanitation of the city. About this time a Thieve's Guild secretly established itself to prey on transient visitors and passing merchants. Ever since the city has been slowly growing and developing.
