Airing a new program every spring from 1980 to 1985.The cartoon version of Strawberry and her friends carried all the great traits of the cards and the dolls.Mr. Sun provided the narration, and the villain was always The Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak.Who terrorized Strawberry Land with the help of his henchwoman, Sour Grapes.
The first special The World of Strawberry Shortcake
introduced the various characters-Strawberry Shortcake, Huckleberry Pie, Blueberry Muffin, and Raspberry Tart-along with the Purple Pieman.

Strawberry Shortcake: Pets on Parade
which priemiered in April of 1982, had the gange involded with an annual pet show. First prize was a new tricycle
(guarded by Strawberry Shortcake), a temptin target for the greedy Purple Pieman.

house warming party In 1983's Strawberry Shortcake's Housewarming Surprise the Pieman and Sour Grapes sunk to a new low. Not only did the villains crash Strawberry Shortcake's house warming party, but they set their sights on stealing the girl's prized recipes.
baby with a name In 1984's Strawberry Shorcake and the Baby without a Name Strawberry, Plum Puddin' and Peach Blush made a dangerous treck to rescue the imperiled Baby Without a Name from the cluthes of the Purple Pieman and Sour Grapes.
The final special aired in 1985, Strawberry Shorcake meets the Berrykins . Coinciding with the introduction of the new "Berrykins" toys, the cartoon had the Pieman and Sour Grapes kidnapping the berry-shaped tykes in order to make perfume. Maturally Strawberry Shorcake and her friends came to the rescue. berrykins
With only six specials to her credit, Strawberry Shortcake remains one of the most beloved characters of 80's kid culture. Apparently, the recipe for friendship never changes.
