And here are some tips for you more advanced players.
Smash Em!
Use “smash attacks” effectively. Smash attacks are used by pressing UP, DOWN, LEFT, or
RIGHT + A, timing is key. These attacks will send opponents flying when they are at 75% or
higher. Also, if you SMASH your enemy against a wall, be prepared!, he is probably going to be
coming back your way, so don’t hesitate to nail him again.
Hurl Em!
Along with “smash attacks” are “smash hurls.” When you have an item, press R + UP, DOWN,
LEFT, or RIGHT to throw away your current weapon with more power.
Be Defensive
Guarding and evading is almost as important as beating the crap outa anyone who faces you.
Instead of using the R button to guard, you should use the Z button. For the R button is not only
used for blocking, but throwing as well. When holding the Z button to guard, tap LEFT or
RIGHT to roll. This allows you to evade virtually any attack. It’s great for crowded situations.
Sneaky Sneaky
To catch your opponent off guard with a sneaky throw, press A or R button while guarding. Your
character will briefly grab out in an attempt to throw.
Bounce Back
While spinning to the ground from a hard hit, don’t just allow yourself to hit the ground rock hard
and be paralyzed for a moment. Instead press the Z button right before you hit the ground and
you will bounce right back to your feet. You can also press LEFT or RIGHT along with the Z
button to roll to your feet.
Keep Em off
Make sure to do your best from allowing your enemy back onto the arena. When you see him
trying to fly or jump back on, use a weapon, smash attack, or special move to send him back out.
Greed Can Win
Be greedy :-) and go for the person who is damaged the most. Obviously he will be much easier
to knock off and you’ll add a point to your score (in verus mode ) with little effort.
A Final Note
Try not to watch only yourself when fighting. It is crucial that you pay some attention to the other
character(s). It wouldn’t be too pleasant when out of nowhere u get walloped with a Bob-omb.
