Instead of the single-player adventure mode, Unreal tournament focus on mutiplayer type of gameplay that is death matches.

You would find that this new game does'nt have those long dark passages and puzzle filled areas for you to solve. Instead what you would find is a non-story line action packed game. You just have to walk around in various individual maps and kill those who oppose you, it is just like a deathmatch. It sounds easy but it is not, much effort was put into developing more intelligent computer controlled bots. The bots can be set to different AI(artifical intelligence) settings, allowing you to tailor the game's difficult to suit your own skill level. The easiest setting has little exicement in it but as you set the AI higher you would have your hands full.

There are a total of 5 different types of gameplay they are Tournament deathmatch, Tournament team match, Domination, Capture the flag, Instagib deathmatch. The various type deathmatches are basically the same just see the enemy then shoot. What is special is Domination instead of just running around blindly you have to find the the control points and claim it for your team. The action does not stop there, you must defend your control points as long as you can from being capture by the opposite team. The long you stay in control the more points you gain.

The weapons have been change a little since the original Unreal. A special device called the Translocator has been added, this device allows you to be telepot to any location you have marked with this blinking device. Original weapons like the automag has been given a new name called the enforcer, instead of one you can get 2 of them. Some good old weapons still remain the minigun (my favourite) and the rocket launcher. New ones are also added like the Pulse gun and Impact hammer, I like the Pulse gun but the Impact hammer...

I got only the demo of this game but it was good enough to let me say that, action lovers this game is for you!
