FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS.
1.) What is a Role Play?
A role play involves you making up a character, and writing about what that character would do, with regards to other people's characters.
2.) Where do I Role Play?
You role play on the message boards. You may role play with whomever you like, so long as the other person agrees to it.
3.) How do I join this Role Play?
To join you simply fill out the registration form; it is free.
4.) What kind of character can I be?
when you sign up just pick a category which you wish your character to be.
5.) Can I be someone from the books?
No, I'm sorry you can't. This takes place after the books.
6.) Can I have more then one character?
As long as you can keep up more then one, yes you can.
7.) How is my character ranked?
Your character is ranked by how long you've been at the site, how much you've posted and how good a writer you are.
GUIDE LINES & BOARD LEADER'S RULES.
1.) No one on the board attacks other PC or their properties (guards, house, NPC's, etc.) but only NPC's you made yourself or PC's from other societies on the Battleground Board may attack each other. The members from the same board don't fight each other (except in special cases and with all persons in the fight's agreement).
2.) Do not injure or kill a character unless he or she is of your own creation. You may act as though you intend harm on that character but must allow the person who owns that character to respond, describing their injury, death, etc
3.) Keep your stories plausible within the greater guidelines of the world Terry Goodkind created combined with the real world we live in. But remember places as Aydindril not Paris exist.
4.) That brings us to the era we live in. The site is based a few thousand years after the SotF. We have modern technology which means the things that you use every day or see every day or touch every day or eat every day or smell every day. We have the abilities still that are in the SoT series.
For example: This is how the Mord Sith's little capabilites work. The Wizards decided after the last Rahl died and the Mord Sith started to lose their abilities to hold people...that they would create a sort of false bond with the Wizards of the Keep...The First Wizard is the only one that has this bond as does the Head Sorceress.....The last Rahl died like 3,000 years ago and that's when the Wizard's made the bond thing...from then on the Mord Sith work for the Wizard's and no one else...The D'Haran Army protects the Keep through the "false" bond. The Council controls the lands. Free enterprise and freedoms like the USA of today.
5.) For the Agents of the Keeper's background. The years have not changed the Banelings. Their service to the Keeper has strengthened, and as a result, the lord of the Underworld had granted Banelings with power and magic. These men and women, who serve their dark master look much like ordinary people, living ordinary lives. With magic and weaponry behind them, the Banelings fight those who walk in the Light. They feel that the advantage is theirs, and the Keeper will soon be freed. They strive to open the veils to the Underworld, and let in the darkness within that world, and let it consume the world of the Light. The Head Baneling now calls himself First Baneling Eric Weiss, Master of Predators. The title reflects the person. The Master of Predator wields power of the additive and subtractive magic, making the First Baneling dangerous and deadly. Even Screelings have shown up in the world, making the Agents determined the day of their Master's Arrival is near.
Lord Weiss is at the same time also the president of Predadish and chairman of Geizhals Industries, giving him the power he needs to oppose the Council at Aydindril when needed. Read his bio (three stories) at the bottom of the Agents Board if you wanna know more about him or the social/economic situation)
6.) All characters must have a cover. Like being a lawyer, cop, teacher, etc. These are the 90s. If you have no job, you have no food, meaning you sleep under a bridge after awhile. Besides the Blood of the Fold still hunts all magic users so because of our small numbers we can't use our powers in public yet.
7.) You can write stuff "Out Of Character" (OOC:) and "In Character" (IC:). Please do not confuse the two; it is a real pain in the butt for us Site Monitors and it keeps the boards in order if you follow this rule at all times.
8.) When being in character and in a direct conversation with your superiors, use their titles unless they tell you otherwise.
9.) Character Biographies are required, whether they consist of simply a character description or a story from your characters past. This helps whoever you are role playing with learn about the facts or features you want your character to possess, therefore making it easier to get along in the role playing atmosphere. It also adds some colour and depth to your character.
10.) Characters, at this time, cannot be of combined societies. Which means, you cannot be both a Baneling and a Warrior of the Fold. One must be one or the other. One must choose a single society to join.
11.) Any problems with a certain society must see their Society Leader (Board Leader). If it is a problem with multiple societies you must contact the Council or the High Advisor.
12.)The Council of Truth holds jurisdiction over the boards and therefore can kick out, kill, delete any member or message not fitting to the standards. Besides, there is no need to break a rule to have fun on the message boards.
SITE'S GENERAL RULES
*Character types must be the ones in the Sword of Truth series.
*Due to copyright laws, you may not use the characters mentioned in the
books as one of your PC's (Kahlan, Richard, Cara, Zedd, etc.)
*All mighty God-like characters are not allowed. Remember you can't be the
best with no weakness.
Mailing Lists
The mailing lists created are for:
*official announcements
*talk with other members about things.
They are not however to be used for:
*advertisements, chain letters, or anything of the sort.
*Flaming
Role Playing
Above all else, never take your RPing seriously. This is just a game not
RL.
*No offensive words are allowed to be used on another person.
*No one may kill someone's PC (Player Character) without their permission
but here is one exception. See Council Rules.
*Flaming will not be tolerated. Flaming is the writing of a post with the
sole intent of hurting another person.
*Other rules will be added as the need arises and will be represented here.
Message Boards
All RPing post need to put in it's proper place. Please do not put
questions and comments on the RPing boards, put them on the Q/A board. On
the Q/A board, if you have a question or comment on rules or such, please
posts it and a reply will be given promptly.
If caught posting a derogatory message on the boards to any of the members immediate banning will result. We are adults here so let's act like it.

Rights

Additional Rules for Council Members
Rule 1
There will be no insulting the other members of this site for any reason
whatsoever. Remember Council members that you are their role models act
like it. Anyone caught insulting another member will be handled in a way as
the insult was taken...If anyone finds that someone is insulting them as a
person not your character....your character isn't the important issue here
it's the person issue....then e-mail the Council at the appropiate address
and we will take it from there.
Rule 2
The Council reserves the right to kill off anyone's character after the
character has been given fair warnings. We also reserve the right to ban
character's creator after they have been given fair warnings. We believe in
the three strikes your out system and will follow such.
Rule 3
Anyone caught abusing this site will be handled as any other member would.
No exceptions to this rule.
Oh and this rule is a must: Have fun! Enjoy yourself. That's why I made this, so people can express their imagination and their story telling. So like I said, have fun!
