Castle Starlin's Armory

Here we have my smithy. Laborous men they are, always hard at work. They are the back-bone of my keeps defenses, equiping my guards. They tend to be very vaulable in identifying weapons and armor as well. Even thread items are not within their knowledge. What one doesn't know, surely five others will. Please have a look around. Though the single rare pieces are not for sale, there may be some other things that you'll want to inquire about.

Randalin's Rest-Bringer
Maximum Threads: 2
Spell Defense: 19

Randalin's Rest-Bringer is a Two Handed sword and appears to be of simple steel, and of only decent quality. The pomel looks as simple and has a faint blueish color. Once a thread is attached however, it shows its full appearance and quality. As higher ranks are achieved the blade reveals its forged perfection. The pomel is emblazed with Randalin's insignia and made of pure Orichalcum with a pure gold sun at the center of the hilt. There are small slivers of diamond eminatting from the sun representing rays of light. This sword can never be forged to increase damage.

Rank 1		Cost: 300

Key Knowledge: Randalin Elhalyn was a journeying slayer of undead. His wife, Kastera, had been turned undead by a Horror and thus was Randalin's fire to hunt undead and Horror's kindled. He used this blade to dispatch many of the undead during his journy. Of more importance it was the item of power that he used to seal off the energies keeping the Valley of Mis-Sight in its unatural state. The wielder must learn the Name of the sword.
Effect: The sword is now +3 forged and never needs sharpening. It can now also be used to re-seal the Valley of Mis-Sight.

Rank 2		Cost: 500

Effect: The sword can now hit non-corporeal undead and undead Horror constructs. The wielder makes a Melee Weapons Test -2 steps. If they achieve a successful test treat it as if the target was corporeal and deal damage as normal.

Rank 3		Cost: 800

Key Knowledge: Randalin did eventually confront the Horror who turned his wife undead. In a heated battle that nearly cost Randalin his life, Verasjin, the Horror whom had commited the act against his wife, was slain. The wielder must learn the Name of the Horror.
Effect: The sword is now +5 forged. The sword can also now achieve Armor Defeating hits against undead and undead Horror constructs one success level less than needed.

Rank 4		Cost: 1300

Effect: The blade can now hit non-corporeal undead and undead Horror constructs with no restrictions.

Rank 5		Cost: 2100

Key Knowledge: Randalin was brother to Veros, a Legendary Weaponsmith. He forged the sword for his brother to its perfection. The wielder must learn that Veros was his brother and that he forged the blade.
Effect: The sword is now +7 forged and the blade gleams with perfection. The wielder also adds +2 to his Melee Weapons talent when attacking undead or undead Horror constructs.

Rank 6		Cost: 3400

Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn that Randalin's wife gave him the golden sun that now resides in the pommel of the sword. It was made by her and given as a wedding gift to seal thier vows.
Deed: The wielder must recreat an exact replica of the sun (value 1800gp). Then travel to the burial place of Kastera, and place the object into her tomb. The deed is worth 5,500 Legend points.
Effect: The sun in the pommel of the sword can now cast the spell Radiant Death. When using this spell, if the wielder is not a spellcaster, the wielder uses his Perception step + 8 for casting and his Willpower step + 10 for Effect. This spell only affects undead and undead Horror constructs.


Shakar’s Blade
Maximum Threads: 3
Spell Defense: 8

Shakar’s Blade is a Longsword. The sword hilt contains a small emerald that glows when the swords magic is activated. The blade is covered in runes containing Shakars exploits. The blade is an ashen silver and the handle is silver with emerald slivers.

Rank 1		Cost: 200
Key Knowledge: Shakar was a Swordmaster Mage. The Character must learn that the blade was Shakars.
Effect:
Add +6 to the wielders damage step.
Rank 2		Cost: 300
Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn that the blade has magical powers.
Effect:
The blade blazes like a torch for an hour or until it is extinguished. Add +7 to wielders damage step.
Rank 3		Cost: 500
Key Knowledge: Being a student under the dwarven warrior Kagel, Shakars blade resembles Kagels. The wielder must learn that Kagel was Shakars teacher.
Effect:
The blade becomes stone hard adding +1 to hit steps. Add +8 to the wielders damage step.
Rank 4		Cost: 800
Effect: Allows the wielder to flow around attacks. This reduces the wielders damage by 6. Increase the wielders Physical Defense by 2.
Rank 5		Cost: 1300
Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn the name of the four elements whom Shakar bargained with to empower his sword.
Effect:
Add +9 to the wielders damage step. The power of the winds can chill the blade. Add +6 to damage steps when used against creatures weak to cold.
Rank 6		Cost: 2100
Effect: Increase the wielders Spell Defense by 2.

Note: All effects cost wielder 1 point of strain and are in effect for 1 hour or until used. Each power may be used once per day.


Valiant’s Axe
Maximum Threads: 2
Spell Defense: 17

Valiant’s Axe is a Prince Axe Damage Step 9. The axe was used by Valiant, Guardian of Queen Shevara. He died defending her from an unknown Horror.

Thread Ranks

Rank 1		Cost: 500
Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn the name of the Axe and the name of the noble whom Valiant was sworn to protect.
Effect: The Axe is designed so that its magic only works when the wielder swears a Blood Oath to protect a noble from harm. The Blood Oath inflicts 1 point of permanent damage. Add +10 to the wielders damage step. Increase the wielders Physical Defense by 1.
Rank 2		Cost: 800
Effect: Add +11 to the wielders damage step. Increase the wielders Spell Defense by 1.
Rank 3		Cost: 1300
Key Knowledge: The wield must learn that Flametoucher, Firebreather’s great grandfather, forged this blade in a volcano near Trilias.
Effect: Once a thread is attached, the head of the blade glows white hot when used. It does Step 4 fire damage to any flammable items. Add +12 to the wielders damage step.
Rank 4		Cost: 2100
Effect: Increase the wielders Physical Defense by 2 and Social Defense by 1.
Rank 5		Cost: 5500
Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn that the Fire Spirit Kresh'ki'ar helped Flametoucher forge this Prince Axe. They must also learn that the spirit is willingly living in the blade.
Effect: The wielder may communicate with and use the spirits powers. Add +13 to the wielders damage step. The axe now does step 8 damage to flammable items.
Rank 6		Cost: 8900
Deed: The wielder must go to where the axe was forged and pledge a Blood Oath to Kresh'ki'ar. He must pledge to protect the blade at all costs even if it means sacrificing their life. This Oath does 4 points of permanent damage. The deed is worth 8900 Legend Points.
Effect: The wielder may summon Kresh'ki'ar one full day a month. Kresh'ki'kar is a Strength 21 Fire Spirit. Add +15 to the wielders damage step.
