Shenmue Center News
Today we have news on:
|
Yu Suzuki, talking to Japan's number one Video Game Magazine, Weekly Famitsu, said some interesting tidbits about Shenmue: Mainland China. One is that the sequal would be less talk and more action. He also said that the games graphics are going to be preety much the same. This isn't a huge surprise considering that the graphics of the original were so superb. But the final thing he said is the most surprising. To make the game more authentic, most of the speech will be in Cantonese and have Japanese subtitles. This is kinda akward for the Japanese and the news isn't being met with a lot of prase. It's still very much up in the air for the North American release, we'll have to see what they do with Shenmue: Youosaka and that is the method that will most likely be used for the sequal. |

Yu Suzuki Talks About Shenmue: Mainland China Release
Yu Suzuki reported to Japanese press that he hopes to have Shenmue: Mainland China ready for a Japanese release in June or July 2000!. While many view this with great skepticism, it may be possible. Shenmue was split into two games about a year and a half ago after Sega came to the conclusion that the game was too big. Sega than split the game with the first game having the majority. So the Mainland China project has been in the works for awhile. Also the game uses the originals engine. |
