Historically, football in Lamb's Cove has been a secondary sport. However, in 298, the Grand Duchy decided to field a team in the Vexillium Cup tournament.

With no organized national league, open tryouts were held for the national team. From those tryouts, 22 players were selected to represent Lamb's Cove at the competition in Christiana and Davenport. The team included players from top amateur leagues, colleges, military squads and even baseball players. The inexperience showed as Lamb's Cove lost all of its group play matches in the tournament.

Lamb's Cove again competed on the global front in 299, entering the Vexillium Cup tournament held in Whitlam and Zartania. The same players represented the nation, and just as it was a year earlier, the "Dukes" were shut out in group play.

Later that year, Lamb's Cove entered the Copa Vexanova, with much better success. The team managed a draw in the group play round, enabling it to advance to a wild card game in the final bracket. While that game was lost, it showed that Lamb's Cove was making progress on the global football map.

Lamb's Cove did not enter any international football competitions in 300. Instead, the team organizers regrouped, hoping to make a statement in 301. The club still consists primarily of amateur and collegiate players, along with some new faces, but for the most part they have now been working together for some time, and it is hoped that sense of teamwork will be evident.
