Shannon leads you down an aisle of stables.
This is where the mares of our stable are
she explains.
Shannon stops at a stall and calls to the mare within.
This is Mimosa , our resident Arabian.
The mare nuzzles Shannon's hair delicately , and then steps back.
She's rather quiet and shy compared to the others explains Shannon
and she can be quite nervous aound strange objects - Morganna found that out yesterday here Shannon sighs.
But once you get her in a dressage ring ,she does a magnificent job !
She looks so magnificent... here Shannon lapses into silence , and only until you tap her on the shoulder , does she lead you onto the next stall.
A large dapple grey head appears over the stable door , demanding attention.
Shannon laughs. This is Dixie , she's a Shire , and the other mare of our stables.
The mare attempts to nuzzle your pockets in the hope for sugar.
She's quite a character too - in contrast to our quiet friend Mimosa.
Strangely , they seem to get along very well.
Dixie isn't that bad at dressage hereself either - and she will do anything to please her rider -
she's almost the perfect mount !
There is the sound of hooves , and a girl appears , leading a pretty coloured brown horse down the aisle.
Shannon smiles. Hello Morganna ! How did she go ?
The girl (Morganna) leads the mare into a stall ,and starts to untack her and rub her down. She was a little lively at first , but she soon calmed down. She's got speed too.
Shannon looks pleased. That sounds promising. I'll give her a go myself tomorrow , I think.
Morganna nods . Sounds good , I'm sure once she settles in , she'll be fine. Must head off now , Z needs exercising ! With that , Morganna dissapears down the aisles.
Shannon heads up to the stall where the mare is housed , and strokes her gently on the neck.
This she tells you , is Choco. She only arrived today , so she's still a little unsure of her surroundings.
The main reason - well , one of of them anyway - that we decided to purchase her was that me and Morganna had seen her father , Furzley Hill Nightlife , and we - well , mostly Morganna - fell in love with him on the spot ! So naturally , we were thrilled when a daughter of his was available for sale.
There is a loud clattering of hooves and a bay horse comes trotting down the aisle.
Shannon laughs. Don't tell me you've escaped AGAIN? She grabs hold of the mare's halter and leads her back to her stable , with you following.
Shannon explains. This is Moon Flicker , the newest addition, and already she's escaped from her stall three times ! Morganna calls her 'Lady Houdini.' And I don't know how she does it ! But she's a dream to ride.
Shannon leads you down the aisle of stables. Well , thats all the mares we have at the moment ,
but our stables are always expanding !
She pauses. I've got their stats up here somewhere too...ah , here thay are , on the corkboard.
