Rope Tricks

Welcome to my Rope Trick Page.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Parents with children as well as young ones with their friends can have a time of fun with the following trick.
.....................................................
Releasing the Ring from a Knot!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items required:
Key Chain, Thread & Chair with Arm Rests.
* You need a Key Chain's metal ring. (Remove all the keys).
* You also need a Twine or Thread or a Thin Rope (Longer than the distance between the Arm Rests of a Chair).
* Let the two ends of the Rope be 'A' & 'B'.
* Bring 'A' & 'B' closer to each other.
* Now you will have a loop at the other end. Let it be 'C'.
* Hold the ring in your left hand, in vertical position to the ground.
* Hold the loop 'C' in your right hand.
* Pass the loop into the hollow of the ring.
* Use one of your left fingers to hold the loop 'C' vertically, pressing against the ring, so that it is above the level of the ring.
* Hold 'A' &'B' together in your right hand.
* Pass 'A' & 'B' together into the loop 'C', above the ring.
* Now, hold 'A' & 'B' together in your left hand.
* Holding 'A' & 'B' together, lift up your left hand and pull the ring with your right hand.
* You will see a knot on the ring.
* Opposite to the loop 'C' you will see two more loops on the ring. Let them be 'D' & 'E'.
* Tie the end 'A' to one of the Arm Rests of the Chair.
* Tie the end 'B' to the other Arm Rest of that Chair.
* Hold 'D' in your left hand.
* Hold 'E' in your right hand, and push it over the ring on to the opposite side of 'D'.
* Now you will see a line of thread connecting 'D'and 'E' and it will look like the dia-meter of the ring.
* Push it over the ring on the side where no thread is seen on the ring.
* The ring would have been released by now!!!!
# Practice this several times.
# Then, instead of using the Arm Rests of a Chair, ask two of your friends to hold 'A' & 'B'.
# Before releasing the ring, hide it with a Red Kerchief. (You may use a bigger ring and a thicker rope).
# Your friends will be surprised, after you have released the ring.
# Keep on talking, while you perform this trick.
