By now, everyone should know how good Goldeneye is. How many people do you know that have never played it? Probably none. The game is STILL selling, even though it's nearly 2 1/2 years old. Goldeneye is THE best N64 game out today, or at least until Perfect Darks comes out (Rare's un-official sequal to Goldeneye) Now back to the
Review:

Goldeneye closey follows the movie for the most part. Some areas have been created or changed, which is pretty normal for a game made after a movie. Your mission starts when the Goldeneye satellite unexpectedly goes off destroying everyting electronic in a huge radius. You are sent to investigate and then the whole story unfolds.

The one-player mode is perfectly executed. There are 9 missions that are brokenup into 20 levels (including 2 bonus levels), which are broken up into three difficulty levels: Agent, Secret Agent, and 00 Agent. The Graphics are great. (Look how well the characters are done in my
Character Pics) There is a little fog in the backround, but Rare cleverly used it simply to eliminate pop-up. Considering the N64's music limitations, Goldeneye's music is top-notch. Each level has it's own unique music which never gets old or boring. Goldeneye's control is also perfect. There are 8 different options for your controller including 4 which let you use two controllers simutaneously- very cool. For all your hard work, Rare treated you with 2 bonus levels. By completing all of Secret Agent, you open up the Aztec Temple level, which is based on the Bond Movie "Moonraker" (Jaws is also in it!) By completing all of 00 Agent, you open up the Egyptian level, which is based on the Movies "Live and Let Die", "The Man With the GoldenGun", and "The Spy Who Loved me". You also can earn cheats from every level by completing it at a certain time, another great feature of Goldeneye's one-player mode. Extra levels for multi-player are earned by beating certain single-player levels.

The reason most people play Goldeney today is for it's addicting multi-player mode. It's so great because there are so many options, so every game is totally different. You have 8 different scenario options like The Living Daylights and License to Kill. There are 11 different levels to choose from, including multi-player only levels. You can set the game length to minutes, points, or even ulimited. There are 14 weapon combinations to choose from and 64 playable
characters (Including the staff of Rare) For experienced players and beginners, you can alter the handicap. You can also change your controller setting. There is extremely little fog in multi-player, but the framerate can go down sometimeson a few of the levels, which can get annoying when 4 people are in the same room all shooting at each other.

Goldeney is a must have game for any N64 owner. It's replay value is unmatched. All we can do now is wait for Perfect Dark to arrive and hope it will break all of Goldeneye's records.
