Several Vree guilds, rearming after the Shadow War, have found the Xill saucer to be slightly less than an optimal purchase, economically. With the antimatter shredder a proven success, however, they desired to field ships with this capability. It was decided in the end to refit the ventral turret assembly of the Xorr saucer with the antimatter shredder, while maintaining the twin cannon assembly in the dorsal turret. The result was a notable gain in long-range firepower with - as the guilds with operated the Xall design saw it - minimal losses in close-range power, and a large cash savings.
