In recent times, the Earth Alliance has started to phase out the Hyperion for newer & bigger ships (like the Warlock). After the Earth Civil War, & with the formation of the Interstellar Alliance, the Gaim approached the Earth Alliance about purchasing some of the old Hyperion hulls. As the Gaim for willing to pay a hefty price (which would go a long way to building new ships), the EA sold a small group of old Hyperion hulls. The Gaim modified them with their technology, & also started experimenting putting more than one particle concentrator on a ship. The result is the Queen Mother Cruiser. The Gaim only have a few hulls, so these ships are considered very rare, & would only be found in the biggest Gaim fleets. The Gaim are obviously eager to purchase more hulls from the Earth Alliance.
