Ratings Explanation
The ratings posted in the table below are meant to represent each member's skill in terms of other members and do not correspond to the ratings used by the United States Chess Federation (USCF).

Rankings Explanation
In addition to numerical ratings, members are placed on a hierarchical ladder. This ladder is divided into three tiers, the Upper Tier, the Lower Tier and the Inactive Tier. A number decided upon by the Chess Commission every year defines the Upper Tier. The Lower Tier consists of all the remaining active members. The Inactive Tier holds all inactive members. Inactive members are either defined as casual players who do not wish to clog the Upper and Lower Tiers or as members with extremely poor attendance.
