Shippô is an orphaned kitsune (fox-demon) who joins Inuyasha and Kagome after his family is killed by two demon brothers that carry Shikon shards. Shippô is generally a happy-go-lucky demon with a huge sense of humor and a great mind for jokes.

His powers are somewhat limited because he is so young, but he has an illusion ability that can be used to attack, and he can shape shift. He usually reserves his shapeshifting for practical jokes, though. He really enjoys goading Inuyasha and never lets a chance to pull his strings pass by. He is especially attached to Kagome and Sango , and though frequently frightened by danger, does his best to protect them and the rest of his friends.
