My Headlight Eyebrows

I hated that ugly orange reflector that is on the outside part of the headlight. I didn't want to paint clear headlight covers, so I opted to use some vynil. I went to a graphics shop and asked them if they had any scraps laying around (most of them do), and they found some that matched my car and gave it to me free. Here are a few steps to follow to make the install go smoother:

Items Needed
-Flathead screwdriver
-Towel
-Vinyl
-Spray bottle
-Squeege
-Heat gun, blowdryer

1) Open your hood and remove the "RAM AIR BY PONTIAC" shroud by pulling up on the middle part of the 8 plastic clips.

**REPEAT ALL STEPS FOR EACH ASSEMBLY**

2) You have to remove your headlamps. With the shroud off you will be able to see 2 clips that hold in each headlamp. Using the flathead screwdriver remove these clips as described in the drawing:

With these clips out, place the towel on your bumper and tuck it under the headlamp to eliminate the chance of scratching your bumper. Now, just pull the headlamp out and remove the harness from the main headlight, and the bulbs from the rest of the lights.

3) With the headlamps out, place them on a good working surface. The outer black rubber is removable. Remove it by pulling up on the rubber around the areas circled in these pictures:

With these removed you will have a better surface to apply the vinyl and less obstructions.

4) Using a piece of paper, roughly estimate the size and shape of the reflector. Also, estimate the curve that you want on the part closest the the headlight bulb area. Cut that shape out of the vinyl. Here's a picture to show you the shape you need:

5) In the spray bottle, create a solution of water and a few drops of shampoo or dish soap. Mix it up well and clean the surface of the headlamp.

6) Spray the surface of the headlamp with a generous amount of solution. Also, spray the back (sticky side) of the vinyl with a generous amount of solution. While both are still drenched, apply the vinyl to the surface and postion where desired.

7) Using the heat gun or blowdryer, heat the vinyl allowing it to sretch and evaporate the solution. Using the squeege, strecth and smooth the vinyl to the surface. You will have to be patient for it takes some time. Keep applying low heat and working out all imperfections and bubbles.

8) If any bubbles remain after completley drying, use a needle to puncture a small hole and squeeze it all out of the hole.

9) Reinstall the rubber surround in a reverse manner as step 3.

10) Plug in all the harnesses to their specific lights.

**I chose to wire the bulbs that light these areas to their own switch. (Click here to see how to do this.) I did so because of my past run in with an officer that said the law is, you cannot have red lights on the front of your car. And because of the red viyl I chose to use, it glows red at night. You make the decisions, depending on color, and strictness of your area police.**

11)Reinstall the headlamp assembly by lining up the alingment adjusters and pushing the assembly into place. Reinstall the clips.

12) Reinstall the Ram Air shroud, and you're done!

I would like to say Thank You to iceman and Fuct88 for letting me use one of their pictures! Here are a few pictures of the completed eyebrows! Enjoy!
