Van De Cuyl, Cornilis Barentsen (b. 1615, d. 1706)

Note: Thanks Richard but after reading through the material and comparing it to
information found at Utrecht, it is doubtful to impossible that Cornelis
Barentsen van de Cuyl was the father of Hendrickje and Annetje Cornelis, in
fact he was likely of the same generation as these two women. While he was
a baptismal sponsor to a child of Cornelis Vernooy and Annetje Cornelis,
I'm guessing the tie is to the Vernooy family and not to Annetje
Cornelis. Cornelis Barentsen is found at Utrecht prior to his immigration
and not at Wagening, Gelderland and his ancestry goes back to the suburbs
of Utrecht with no known tie to Gelderland. Ships records suggest he maried
Lysbeth Arents after his arrival in New Netherland so I think this is just
another example of a supposition passed along as fact.
