Snyder, James (b. ABT 1765, d. ?)
Note: Checked the Census Indexes for 1810 and 1820 on 7 Sep 2004. Based on the information that I found it looks like the father of Gertrude Snyder was James Snyder. James was listed in both Censuses. In 1810 he is listed as living in Montgomery County, with 2 boys under 10, 1 boy between 10 and 16, 1 daughter under 10 and 1 daughter between 10 and 16. The male over 45 would have been James. I would estimate that he was born about 1765. In the 1820 Census there are 2 Snyders living in Mayfield. The William Snyder who was listed as being between 16 and 26 would not have been old enough to have had a daughter born in 1802. There were no Snyders listed in the 1790 Census living in the Mayfield area. James Snyder probably moved to Mayfield between 1790 and 1800. He may have been married when he moved to Mayfield or he was married while living there. May be listed in Mayfield Reformed Church microfilm. In 1800 Census.
