The Winthrop Fleet was a group of eleven sailing ships under the leadership of John Winthrop that carried approximately 700 Puritans plus livestock and provisions from England to New England over the summer of 1630.

DUTCH LANGUAGE
At this point I think that it is necessary
to provide some background material. You will see that many given names use
Dutch spelling. Female names end in “tie”, “tje” or
“ian”. It is usually fairly easy to determine the English name. Surnames were
