Typical Politician’s Response from Governor Sonny Purdue...

SOS!

Governor Sonny and Mary Purdue

Typical religious hypocrites?
Is this man responsible for the Gestapo type actions of the DFACS??
He did appoint the DFACS Department head....

We were at first encouraged with the Governor's tone genuine concern and with the assurance that the issue would receive further thought. However, we feel that the Governor shoved his responsibility off by blaming the Judicial system when HE is the one that is over DFACS
Well Governor, the lip service just is not enough!

Please read the following to see why:

Letter #1:

Honorable Sonny,

Glad you got elected, I voted for you, that should have been a little help to you.

We have a major problem in Pike County, Georgia. Attached you will find a MS Word document..

My wife and I are disabled grandparents. I admire you having a nice family as well. You should understand where these grandparent are coming from.

The human rights violation in this state are exceeding what we would not allow in some third world countries. I hope you support me on my international quest for justice. It would look better politically if you took a proactive stance with us to stop the abuses allowed in your state in the juvenile system. Especially if the International Human Rights Watch gets involved. I have also sent this to the ACLU and a few other organizations.

I admire you and wanted to give you the "heads-up" via this information.Your proactive support on this will look great.

Please take just 10 minutes to see what we are fighting.

You will see that you can take the lead in changing the laws in GA to stop Judges from abusing the system.

I desperately need help via advice, funding, resources, etc

Thanks for taking the time to read it. You will find my address in the attachment. Please respond ASAP!

Thank again,
Steve Johnson

Letter #2:

georgia.governor@gov.state.ga.us Honorable Governor “Sonny” Purdue,

I and many friends voted for you and celebrated along with you for your win.

The state paper “New Georgia” headlined “A new Georgia promised by Governor Sonny Perdue, Georgia’s 81st Governor”. In this, you claimed that, “I will be the most accessible governor this state ever saw.”

First Lady Purdue stated, "Family Connection's commitment to strengthening families is a wonderful model of how we can all work together to make a difference for families in our state," said Mrs. Perdue. "I commend you for meeting a crisis and looking for solutions. Our challenge is to continue preparing our kids for school to ensure they have the resources they need to be successful adults. We're proud of Family Connection's involvement in nearly all of our counties across Georgia, and I can't wait to see it in all 159 counties."

You were “supposed” to have created a position to fight corruption in Georgia. I feel that you and the First lady have really let us down:

1) You promised to fight corruption in the state.
2) You promised to be the most accessible governor.
3) The First Lady promised “Family support”

You have let this state down in your campaign promises. You have had numerous appeals from this community concerning corruption in our DFACS departments and local governments from Lamar, Pike and numerous other counties. There is growing grassroots support in organizations that have asked for your help and so far have not gotten your support.

I also am still in hopes that you will take a pro-active approach and get involved before this grassroots organization turns out in large numbers to make the first Republican governor to be elected in Georgia ... also be the last.

A while back, I wrote your honor requesting your help fighting corruption in Pike County. I still have no answer. Other people that I know have also written to you.

There is now a website (http://www.angelfire.com/ga4/justice ) now outlining some of these atrocities in this state. If you continue to fail in keeping your campaign promises how do we know that you will your OATH of OFFICE? Your failure to keep these may result in I and my family leaving the Republican Party and joining the ranks of whoever is running against you. I feel that I should also release to your opponents for republication this letter and your responses. This could be highly publicized and very damaging.

While you dilly-dallied around, a child died here in Pike County, which DFACS had just released back into a bad environment due to their neglect. DFACS and this county is guilty of that child’s death due to neglect. They were so engrossed and focused on chasing ghost in these other cases that they let this child down. Are you also guilty by not taking an active role???

Again, I beg you to please help the parents and grandparent from whom these children have been “STOLEN”.

All simply because there is a high adoption demand for white babies. This is highly racist and an insult to black babies and their families.

PLEASE,
Steve Johnson

Response:

STATE OF GEORGIA
OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR
ATLANTA 30334-0900

Sonny Perdue
GOVERNOR

Mr. Steve Johnson

Dear Mr. Johnson:

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts concerning the juvenile justice system in Georgia. It is important for me to know what issues are on your mind.

So that this situation can be addressed to your satisfaction, I encourage you to discuss your ideas with your state legislators. Should you need their contact information, it is available from your county board of voter registration.

The members of the General Assembly in your district can actually sponsor or vote on legislation on your behalf. When such legislation reaches my desk for signature, I will give very careful consideration to the concerns you have voiced.

Georgia's State Constitution requires a strict separation among the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government. Unfortunately, I have no authority in this matter. I am prohibited as Governor from intervening in proceedings where the judicial branch of government has jurisdiction. To file a formal complaint against a judge, you may contact the Judicial Qualifications Commission at this address:

Judicial Qualifications Commission
8206 Hazelbrand Road, Suite C
Covington, Georgia 30014
770-784-3189

I appreciate your making me aware of your interest in this matter as a Georgia citizen.

Sincerely,
Sonny Perdue

Our concern here is that the Governor DOES have control over who is the State Director since he appointed that person.

Furthermore: The Department of Family and Children Services "Supervisor of the Year" was appointed under the Governor's term. Please refer to DFACS homepage showing Susan Boggs from Pike County, Georgia as Supervisor of the Year - 2004"

According to a Federal Investigation of 1997, under section "4. Abusive Disciplinary Practices, Susan Boggs was director over Spaulding Juvenile center where, according to those reports; she allowed children to be stripped, sit on cold damp concrete floors, abused, self-mutilation, suicide attempts. The Document was VERY specific in stating, "Subjecting youths to such punitive conditions violates their constitutional rights". Well it CLEARLY violates their international Human Rights!

THIS LADY IS 2004 SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR IN CHILD PROTECTION??????

Our questions to the Governor are:

  • Are officials that abuse children rewarded for their actions in this state?
  • Is it customary the Supervisor of the Year at a child PROTECTIVE agency be one that violate children's civil and human rights?
