EXT. L.A. SKYLINE - SUNRISE "I Get Around" continues to BLAST as we get a good look at the Los Angeles skyline.The Palm Trees seem to reach up from the sky and block out the rising sun. 2. INT.CAR(moving) - MORNING "I Get Around" still PLAYS except now it's coming from a CAR RADIO. A brand new, 1991 Honda slowly pulls up to a Stop sign on Hollywood boulevard.It's pretty dirty for only a month.It's been covered in mud and chipping paint. The driver is STEVEN PACKER,mid-twenties,blondish hair and a slick,devilish smile. Next to him,in the passenger seat, is his partner in crime and best friend MICHAEL SIMONGTON,early twenties,brownish hair which is soaked with BLOOD that comes from a wound on the side of his head. SIMONGTON (pissed) That fucking bitch. PACKER You're still going on about that? SIMONGTON YES! The fucking bitch shoot me! PACKER Hey well you're still alive.Atleasy the bullet only knicked 'ya and didn't blow that beautiful brain out the back of your-fucking-head! SIMONGTON IT STILL HURTS LIKE HELL! SIMONGTON turns away from his partner. PACKER (pissed) SHIT! You never put your fingers on a dead fucking body! What the fuck were you thinking?! 3. FLASHBACK: INT.BANK - EARLIER Earlier. PACKER and SIMONGTON are now robbing the bank,both are like pissed off Dogs.Packer is wielding the Shotgun we saw in the BACKSEAT and Simongton is pointing a PISTOL at the Manager. Near them are two men we haven't seen before.One of them is SETH RICHARDSON,blondish hair,blue eyes,looks that would send any 13 year old girl in to a frenzy. The other one is MOORE,a loner, likes to hang around bars at night looking for drunk women. OUT OF NOWHERE A GUNSHOT RINGS out and MOORE's head suddenly explodes, a fine mist of blood shoots out the back of Moore's head. Moore falls to the floor dead. CUT TO a older looking man with a beard, aiming A .45-Automatic right at the robbers. The older looking man FIRES three shoots.SETH is instantly hit in the stomach.The second and third shots rip in to Seth's FACE. PACKER(O/S) FUCK! Packer FIRES two shots that blow the older looking man off- screen. BACK TO: 4. INT.CAR(moving) - MORNING SIMONGTON They were dead.I mean, why wouldn't we take their money? The money was just their. PACKER (pissed) You know how fucking bad this is? Our fucking fingerprints are on two of the bodies,their is probably a few people there who know what we look like and our fingerprints are on the bodies -- SIMONGTON -- You've said that twice. PACKER Who gives a fuck? All I'm saying is that the cops probably have your fingerprints on file and when they find your fingerprints on Seth's body....... SIMONGTON What? PACKER ....they'll know who to look for. SIMONGTON (crying) Well I'm fucking sorry people can't be as calm as you when their best friends have been shoot to fucking pieces! PACKER (calm) You're supposed to be fucking cool during a situation like that.We couldn't of saved Seth and Moore. They were dead on the fucking spot. Packer points out the window to a large Office Building while still looking at Simongton. PACKER You see that place? SIMONGTON Yeah,I do. INT.LAPD HEADQUARTERS - SGT.KEITH'S OFFICE - MORNING SGT.EDDIE KEITH, late thirties, sits at his oak desk,writing his police report and smoking a Ciggarete.There's a TV on in the far right corner of the room. ON TV: Police Footage of done by A AMATUER CAMERA of a crime scene.There's two dead bodies on the floor,each of them shot once in the head and in several other places. KEITH'S POV: His EYES slowly move away from the Police Report and move to a FRAMED PICTURE of his Wife and his three - year old daughter Rebecca. The door opens and in steps his partner EDDIE HASKEL,just like the character from the TV show,"Leave it to Beaver".Eddie Haskel is above average height, thick blonde hair and dark green Eyes. HASKEL Long night? KEITH Yeah. HASKEL How's the wife? KEITH Fine.She's having an affair. HASKEL No shit? KEITH Yes shit. HASKEL Who with? KEITH Her hair stylist. HASKEL (giggles) I didn't know Gay guys married women. KEITH (laughs) Neither did I. CUT TO: 6. INT.BEDROOM - EARLY MORNING OVERHEAD SHOT of a man lying on his bed in a pair of Boxer shorts and a pure white Tee Shirt.His name is Floyd Hauser, mid-twenties. He lays on the bed,just staring up at the CAMERA. His room is fairly messy. Dirty clothes are all over the floor, a Curling Iron on his dresser. HASKEL(V/O) What's the bastards name? KEITH(V/O) I have no fucking idea.I think it was Floyd or Adam or something.I'm not sure. FLOYD gets up out of bed and slips on a Black Hat and a pair of BLUE JEANS. CUT TO: 7. EXT.FLOYD'S HOUSE - MORNING FLOYD'S POV: He steps out of the house on to the freshly cut lawn.In the very middle of the lawn is the MORNING PAPER.He looks around at the other suburban houses that look exactly like his. KEITH(V/O) I really don't fucking care anymore. When I find his ass I'm gonna kick his fucking head in. FLOYD throws the paper on to a Bench near his front door. HASKEL(V/O) Record it.I wanna see the videotape of it.I could make a killing off it on EBay. (laughs) FLOYD'S POV: A 1991 Honda passes by his House.Two men can be heard arguing from inside the CAR. HASKEL(V/O) Yeah.They have the best porn videos on the planet. FLOYD walks to his awaiting HONDA, it looks just like the one Simongton and Packer are in. But Floyd doesn't even realize it. KEITH(V/O) I'll be waiting for him when he walks in. The CAR door shuts in the CAMERA/OUR face. 8. INT.VIDEO STORE - MORNING - BURBANK FLOYD walks in to the VIDEO STORE he works at,"Movies to Go". 9. INT.VIDEO STORE - BATHROOM - MORNING - BURBANK CLOSE on a pair of Eyes. They blink open,they're a deep,deep, BLUE. PULL BACK to reveal a man laying on the Bathroom Counter. His name's BRAD VALLANCE. KEITH(V/O) What was the name of that video Store? HASKEL(V/O) Blockbuster. FLOYD(O/S) Brad? Brad? 10. INT.VIDEO STORE - MORNING - BURBANK BRAD walks out of the Bathroom to greet FLOYD who is now behind the counter. Floyd is now wearing the uniform he has to wear. FLOYD 'yo dude. BRAD What's up? FLOYD Nothing much. KEITH(V/O) She said she and that guy met at some damn,sleazy bar. BRAD How'd you do with that girl you met at the bar? FLOYD We fucked. BRAD (impressed) Congratulations my main man. FLOYD moves around like a Boxer who has just won the Heavy- weight Championship. BRAD What was her name? FLOYD Louise. BRAD Great. I've been to your fucking house. 11. INT.VIDEO STORE - NIGHT FLOYD walks down each of the aisles, studying each of the Movies on the shelf.He stops at a Aisle marked: CRIME/CAPER. He reaches for one of the movies and he pulls it out so the camera can see it.The movie is Casino. 12. EXT.WOODS - FIELDS - NIGHT A OLD DUSTY SUBURBAN speeds down a backwoods country road. There's very few Houses, most of the Houses are run down Farms that haven't had a Animal inside it since the early 1940's. The SUBURBAN makes a turn down and dissapears from the CAMERA'S VIEW. 13. EXT.MIDDLE OF FIELD - NIGHT A DARK FIGURE steps out of the dusty SUBURBAN and walks to his Trunk.We can hear Dogs barking from a nearby Farm.The DARK FIGURE looks out at the direction of the barking, worried. 14. INT.SUBURBAN(trunk) - NIGHT The DARK FIGURE reaches in to the trunk and pulls out a large, filled, black Garbage Bag.The DARK FIGURE struggles under the weight of the Garbage Bag. BRAD(V/O) So what're you doing tonight? FLOYD(V/O) I dunno.Probably Gonna rent a movie, cook some Popcorn, sit down on the couch,the usual. BRAD(V/O) The usual? FLOYD(V/O) Yeah,the usual. EXT.SOMEWHERE OUT IN THE FIELD - NIGHT All we can see is the DARK FIGURE struggling under the weight. The DARK FIGURE lets go and the bag falls in to a freshly dug Hole. 16. EXT.POLICE DEPARTMENT - MORNING(rain) A devastatingly powerful rain. Outside the POLICE DEPARTMENT, it's a absolute media circus. REPORTERS and CAMERAMEN huddle up outside the large POLICE PRECINT. Standing at a Podium on the steps of the POLICE DEPARTMANT is Captain MICHAEL SEGAL,early fifties,on the verge of retirement. REPORTER #1 SIR! SIR! May I comment you on the murder,SIR?! OFFSCREEN we can hear the roar of the City: Car Horns blaring, Boomboxes blasting out music like THUNDER,Thunder rumbling from above, Cars screeching, people yelling out every single word in the book. 17. INT.APARTMENT BUILDING(rain) The Rain has turned in to a slight drizzle. SGT.KEITH stands by a Nightstand inside a messy old Apartment. Clothes are scattered everywhere, there's wrappers on the floor,crumbs of food and stains on the Carpet. In the Bed lays a BLOODIED BODY, definetely from the breasts hanging out of the womans ripped Nightshirt.She's been SHOT int he face and there is signs of struggle, she was raped too. HASKEL(O/S) Cause of death: Shot to the face from a .32-Caliber Pistol just below the Victim's Right Nostril.Evidence has shown signs of struggle, and it is obvious the victim was Raped. KEITH looks over at HASKEL who satnds near the bloodied bed, speaking in to a TAPE RECORDER. KEITH (annoyed) I hate that. HASKEL I know but I have to record this for my police report.I mean,you know easily I fucking forget. KEITH I know,I know.You're a fucking retard. HASKEL (flipping Keith off) Fuck you. KEITH walks away and begins to study the ENTRANCE WOUND with a pair of Tweezers and his finger (which is safe from getting fingerprints on the body with Keith's hand in Rubber Gloves). KEITH moves in to the Bathroom where there's already a few people inside, who are dusting for fingerprints.Written on the bathroom Mirror in BLOOD is: "Skelter" KEITH jumps back shocked. FORENSIC #1 (to Keith) Really oiginal,eh? KEITH lets out a nervous laugh. KEITH Uh-huh. KEITH walks closer to the mirror to get a closer look at the writing. KEITH What have you got so far? FORENSIC #2 There's a few smudges as if the person had on a pair of Gloves. But no exact fingerprints. (beat) Our back is against a wall you might say. KEITH doesn't pay any attention to FORENSIC #2's foolish joke. KEITH Did you guys find any signs of forced entry or anything. FORENSIC #1 No.Everything seems perfect as humanly possible.The only thing that seems out of place is a raped and shot dead body. (nervous laugh) It's like the killer lived here. KEITH That's a interesting concept. Did the victim have any kind of spouse living with her? FORENSIC #1 Not that I know of. KEITH tilts his head up to look at the Ceiling.There is a large SPLATTER OF BLOOD on the ceiling.It's sord of dry. A small dot of blood falls from the roof on to KEITH'S SUTI. KEITH How old is the blood? FORENSIC #2 My best estimate is that it's been there all night. KEITH How the hell did it get up there? The FORENSICS and KEITH walk back in to the bedroom where the body is. FORENSIC #1 A few detectives were in here a hour ago.They said that the killer toke the woman and dragged her in to the Bathroom. (points to body's shoulder) That would explain the glove marks and bruises on the victims shoulders. KEITH rubs his Jaw. FORENSIC #1(cont'd) The Killer dragged the woman in to the bathroom,bent her head down, placed the Pistol below her right nostril........and BANG! KEITH and HASKEL jump back three feet. FORENSIC #2 Shot her. FORENSIC #1 That's what caused the blood splatter on the ceilieng. (turns back) Once she was dead he raped her and put her back in to bed.That's when he most likely left the little piece of homicide history on the mirror. HASKEL(O/S) Charlie Manson will sue. INT.VIDEO STORE - NIGHT The VIDEO STORE is newly decorated.Hawaiian Flowers, tropical decorations and TIKI TORCHES lines the inside of the fairly large Video Store. FLOYD walks by one of the Aisles, placing Videos back in their right spots. KEITH and HASKEL enter the VIDEO STORE, still in unifrom from their hard days at work. HASKEL(V/O) Deal. EXT.VIDEO STORE - LATER It's later. We pan to a bundle of GARBAGE BAGS laying neatly outside the Video Store.We can see a ARM and A LEG sticking out from the large pile. Then a sharp MOAN rings out from the heap of Garbage Bags.We can see from the large figure that it is BRAD. HASKEL(V/O) What's going on? KEITH(V/O) I think that's the fuckface who's been sleeping with my wife. HASKEL(V/O) Hey, this is the blockbuster.So it could be.......... KEITH(V/O) Nah, I'm sure it is....... FLOYD walks out of the Video Store.He reaches for a lock and locks the store up.FLOYD turns around and begins to help his buddy out of the Pile. BRAD'S FACE has been smashed up.His Nose has definetely been Broken and a few of his teeth have been broken out. There's a few cuts, on large Cut up above his right Eyebrow. FLOYD Looks like those fuckers got 'ya bad Bradley. BRAD (moaning) The fucking assholes. INT.FLOYD'S CAR(moving) - LATE NIGHT FLOYD and BRAD are driving away in Floyd's Honda. FLOYD is behind the wheel and in the passenger seat sits BRAD, who has a bloody towel covering his Face. FLOYD So, how did it happen? BRAD I dunno.....it just happened so fucking fast. I walked out to dump my soda and the next thing I knew something jumped out and began to kick my face in. FLOYD What did they look like? BRAD (pissed) I DON'T FUCKING KNOW! He and the employees showered in a fountain of Glass. AT THE VERY SAME MOMENT...... .........There's nothing left of SCAGS and the car.All that's left is a figure of a Car on Fire. Glass and pieces of the Car are thrown atleast 200 feet in the Air. BLACK(v/o) Law enforcement today and the city of Los Angeles were stunned by the event which unfolded today. As reported a Limousine was blown up outside a Local 76 this morning. (beat) The explosion was caused by two C4's which was used as the Bomb used to blow up the Car. Their was pieces of the bomb inside the car as well as the place where it was concealed,inside a Samsonite Briefcase. AT THE VERY SAME MOMENT....... ........FLOYD and BRAD can see the FIREBALL from the Car Dealership. BRAD seems more stunned than FLOYD, who just stares at it with wonder. BIG G'S WAREHOUSE - SAME MOMENT SIMONGTON and GREEN still aim their Pistols at eachother. GREEN Packer, shoot him. He's a cop! PACKER is stunned. PACKER No he's not! Where did you hear that? GREEN Jacque saw him talking to some officers out infront the Police Station about 10 minutes ago, right before he meet you at Starbucks. PACKER No way! EXT. BIG G'S WAREHOUSE - SAME MOMENT JACQUE's car comes screeching up out infront of BIG G'S Warehouse. Behind him a swarm of POLICE CARS come from up behind him. OFFICER leap out of their cars, guns drawn, aimed at JACQUE. All Officers say the same thing: OFFICERS GET ON THE FUCKIN GROUND NOW! JACQUE spins around, and pulls out a INGRAM SUB-MACHINE GUN from his Coat, and aims them at the cops. FREEZE FRAME JACQUE(v/o) He's a cop! JACQUE is suddenly racked by TWENTY or THIRTY Bullets at the same time. He's hit all over. His arms, his legs, his face, his head, EVERYWHERE. JACQUE flys backwards in to a nearby bush. Simongton fires his gun and shoots PACKER in the stomach. BACK TO SPEED GREEN spins around and aims his gun at SIMONGTON. SLIGHTLY SLOW MOTION: BOOM! A Gunshot explodes from OFFSCREEN and nails GREEN in the back, sending blood out the front and the Bullet flys through the wound. BACK TO SPEED. The Bullet that hit GREEN explodes out of GREEN and nails FLOYD in the middle of his chest, killing him instantly. FLOYD body jerks around like a fish out of water, but the chair and the rope restrains him. ALL IS SILENT..... .....then from the darkness comes several armed SWAT TEAMS members accompinied by Two Detectives: KEITH and HASKEL. All the officers gather around SIMONGTON, congratulating him on a good job. KEITH(o/s) (from following scene) You did good Michael. You deceived them, you did your job and you did good. They didn't even see it comin. CUT TO: EXT. POLICE STATION - OUTSIDE STEPS - THE NEXT DAY Hundreds of people are gathered around the LAPD Headquarters for a CEREMONY to honor KEITH, HASKEL and SIMONGTON. All three men are well groomed and where the hats that go along with their uniforms. The CAPTAIN of the force stands at the Podium, talking in to a Microphone. CAPTAIN Today, we are here to honor the men and women who have served this fine city and the police force well. (beat) Today we are here to honor three cops who went above the call of duty to bring two very vicious criminals to justice who have had this city in terror for months on the brink of insanity.
