Phone: 706-649-0748 Hardaway High School officially opened for the 1965-66 year on September 7, 1965, with E. Dewey Renfroe as Principal, and on September 20th of that year, the Muscogee County Board of Education resolved to name the school in honor of the late Benjamin Hurt Hardaway Jr., an outstanding industrialist and community leader who considered knowledge a key to success in life. Appointed to the Muscogee County Board of Education in 1949, he was elected Vice-President of the Board in 1950 and President in 1961. Mr. Hardaway died in 1963
Hardaway High School is led by Principal Keith M. Seifert with the help of Asst. Principals Matt Bell, Helen Turner, Cathy Kirkland, Lynn White, vocational supervisor.
