Composing himself, Bobby slowly drew his hand away. Reluctantly, he got up and walked to the closet. "Do you feel up to going out and meeting everyone and getting some lunch? Or... do you want to?"
"Yeah, I guess so, I'm famished. But, you will stay close to me won't you?" She almost whispered the last few words.
"Oh, yeah, uh, do you want me to find you something else to put on? I've surely got a shirt and I feel like Michelle is your size in shorts."
"Yeah, right. That would be great. But you can just find me my old clothes."
Already at the closet, he rummaged through it and pulled out a worn gray tee shirt. "How's this? It's one of my favorites."
Sam looked at the shirt he held up. She recognized it from one of her posters. Unable to believe everything that was going on, she just nodded.
Over in the corner, Bobby saw the clothes that Kathy had taken off of Sam the night before. Picking up the skirt, he looked at it. "You don't look like the type to wear something like this. Won't you be more comfortable in a pair of shorts if I can find them?"
"Yeah, I guess I would, and no I'm not the type of person to wear those kinds of clothes, but that was the best thing I had. They were all Lisa's. That's all the clothes I can have is her hand-me-downs, I don't ever have enough money for new things."
"Well, in that case, I'll find you a pair of shorts and then you're going to get ready and we're going shopping. I'll buy you anything that you want! How's that sound?"
"Bobby!!!" Then realizing what she had just said, she stopped, "Is it okay if I call you that?"
"I wouldn't have you call me anything else except maybe Christian like the guys do occasionally."
"Bobby, why would you want to buy me anything? You just met me. And I'll be leaving later today, I thought. Anyway, you're talking about a lot of money."
"Well, honey, I ain't exactly poor you know, and why would you leave so quick? I want you to stay a couple of days at least. And as to the clothes... Oh hell! Don't you see? I want to do this for you!"
"What?! Why?!"
"I don't know, I just... I'll be back in a minute!"
As he left and closed the door, Sam slipped out of the nightgown and into the shirt. It was too big, but she didn't care, it was his. "This has to be a dream! He actually acted like he cares about me. If this is a dream, I want to sleep forever!"
Taking the shorts Michelle had found for Sam, Bobby walked back to his room. Almost opening the door, he stopped. He decided that it would be more polite to knock first.
Sam heard the knock. "Bobby?"
"Yeah. Can I come in?" "
Sure, it's your room ain't it?"
Walking in and pulling the door closed behind him, he laughed. "Yes, I guess it is, but I didn't exactly want to scare you to death!"
"You wouldn't have. Trust me, you wouldn't have."
"Here," He said still smiling, "Michelle found these for you. She said they should fit. Good enough for today anyway, until we can get you some things of your own. Is there anything else that you need or want to get ready to go shopping?"
"Yeah, a bath and some make-up." Sam said feeling shy now, but trying not to let it show.
"Seeing as how I know you don't have any of your things with you, you can use the stuff in my bathroom and make out a list of what other things you need and I'll see if Kathy or Michelle will go pick them up for you."
"Great, thanks. You got a piece of paper that I can write everything down on?"
"Here, how's this," He said, handing her a notepad from the hotel.
"Thanks," Sam said taking it and the pen he held out. As she did, her hand brushed against his and she felt a warm feeling start in the pit on her stomach. Even after she pulled away to write her list, that feeling remained. As she finished a couple of minutes later and handed it to him, seeing how short it was, Bobby said, "You don't want much, do you?"
"I don't need a whole lot. I guess maybe because I could never afford too many extravagant things. But truthfully, that's all I need."
"Okay, I'll take this out and see if they'll go get it for you. Slip on the shorts and I'll show you where you can take your bath while they're gone."
Handing Michelle the list, he asked her if she would go get those things for Sam. As Michelle took the list and started to walk away, he stopped her, "Would you like to go with us?"
"Where?"
"Well I was planning to take Samantha out shopping for some clothes of her own and I hoped that you and Kathy would go with us. Will you?"
"I have just decided that you are totally crazy, but yeah, I'll be glad to go. In fact I'll even be so nice as to ask Kathy for you."
"Thanks a lot."
"Okay, I'll be back in a few minutes with this stuff."
Bobby felt like an idiot for knocking on his own bedroom door, but knock he did.
"Bobby?"
"Who else could it be?"
"Come in. Like I said, this is your room."
Opening the door, he said, "But you're in it."
"Very funny! You put me here. Would you rather me be somewhere else? I can leave, you know!"
Laughing, Bobby looked at the girl in his bed, "No, I wouldn't want you anywhere else," then, turning away from the bed he mumbled to himself, "No I don't want her anywhere else, I just wish I was there with her."
"What was that? Are you talking about me?" Sam grinned.
Looking over his shoulder, Bobby smiled back at her. Then quickly making his decision, he blurted out, "Oh what the hell, all you can do is hate me." As he said the last words me made a dash at the bed. Landing on his knees beside her, he peered downward into her startled face. Seeing that she was not in the least frightened, he inched closer and, slipping his arms around her, pulled her up onto her knees in front of him. "Now, Samantha. What was that question?"
Shocked, but unafraid, Sam replied, "Oh nothing, but what are you doing?"
"Will you slap me if I'm being to forward?"
"That depends on exactly how forward you become, but I doubt it."
"How about this forward," he said gently as he moved toward her. Finding her lips with his own, he found her as ready as he himself was. Knowing that all was safe, he lightly flicked his tongue over her lips.
Feeling Bobby's emotions running through her own body, Sam quickly opened up to him. As his tongue entered her mouth, she felt a thrill of passion that her young soul had never felt before. This was her first kiss and she hadn't expected the flood of feelings that now coursed through her. Responding to his actions, she moved her own tongue to find his.
Feeling that she was his to do whatever he wanted with at this moment, Bobby knew that he couldn't take her. No matter that he wanted her right then, he knew that they had to wait. He wanted it to be different than this, slower, with plenty of time. Slowly pulling back, he dropped his head. After a few moments, he looked up at her curious face, and spoke quietly. "Sam, I'm sorry. That shouldn't have happened."
Not understanding, she whispered, "What do you mean? Did I do something wrong?"
"No, I did. I shouldn't have done that to you. Hell, you're only eighteen. I'm twenty-six! That's child molestation!"
"No, Bobby, it wouldn't be. I don't care how old you are or how old I am, I can guarantee that it would never be called that. What happened just now was moving a little to fast, I'll admit, but it wouldn't have been wrong." As she stopped, another thought hit her, "Unless one of us thought it was. Bobby, did you stop because of me or because of my age?"
"Samantha, I stopped because of you, but not in the way that I think you meant that. I stopped because, if after this discussion you still want me, I want our first time to be special. I want us to have plenty of time. Sam, I never asked you, but I could tell that that was your first kiss. And that the way I touched you was the first time you had ever been held like that. I have experience, but, in those few moments, I could tell that with you I'll feel things that I haven't felt since my first time. Sam, you're special, and I love you because of that. I hope you want me for your first, because, I know that there are a lot of feelings in you and I want to be the first to awaken them. Do you still want me, or have you ever wanted me?"
As he finished, Sam felt tears threaten. "Bobby, I want you for the first, the second, and any other times you want me! I'm glad to know that you want me at all. I love you for that. But, about that issue you brought up, have you ever heard the saying, 'You can't rape the willing'? Well, if you're willing, that'll be the case here! 'Cause I'm damn sure willing!"
"Well, in that case, I'm gonna show you things that you've never seen before. How's that sound?"
"Great."
Hearing a door close outside the room, Bobby said, "I think that Michelle's back. If you still want to go shopping, you better get up and get ready." Then glancing down at his watch, "It's almost two now."
"Oh yeah. That's right! Where's the bathroom?"
"Right through that door. As you can see, I always try to get one of the most convenient rooms. I even got the adjoining bathroom this time."
