HOME >> MISC >> DEFINITIONS >> EARNED INCOME

Earned Income

This typically applies to your Adjusted Gross Income, as reported to the IRS. For the exemptions with income qualifications, a copy of your 1040 form (for 2005 applications we would want to see the 2004 1040) is sufficent to document your income .

Earned income usually does not include: Social Security, SSI, Pensions, Disability Income, Retirement, etc. It DOES include: interest income, wages, rental income, dividends, investment returns and such.
