All About Ryan

Ryan Wells

Ryan was an Honor Student, in Who's Who of American High School Students, played baseball, was on a bowling team, a body builder, was in FFA, loved loud music, and was a lady's man. He loved school and his teachers. He loved his 1995 Dodge Avenger and "fixed" it up with lots of speakers and an awesome stereo system. He loved to laugh and make people laugh. He wanted everyone to be happy. He knew where he was going in life. He was going to be a chiropractor. He even called himself "Dr. Wells" and so did everybody else. His favorite thing to do to loosen people up was to "moon" you. He had a very hairy butt and was proud of it. Ryan was the type, that everybody knew him and liked him. He always made sure that everybody knew he was there and would remember him. He was the light of my life.

His last day......

On December 31, 1999, Ryan, his girlfriend, and two other girls had just left his grandmother's house (she lives in St. Petersburg, Florida) on their way to a Bar-B-Que. It was between 7:30pm and 8:00pm, Ryan's girlfriend was driving and she decided to turn off a couple of streets early so she could drive more. Then, something happened, Ryan fell from the car and struck his head on the curb. He was rushed to the trauma center and they operated. Then the hospital called me. They told me that is was not good. That drive (5 hours) was the longest drive of my life. When I got to the hospital (around 5:00am), I ran to his room. I stood by his bed and started making "deals" with God. Somewhere inside of me, I knew that he was not going to make it but I still "talked" to God with such diligence. There were tubes, iv's, and machines everywhere. The doctors gave Ryan till 4:00pm on January 1, 2000, then they came in and ran many, many tests. The doctors called me into his room after completing the tests, and they apologized, but Ryan was brain dead. The injuries were to severe and there had not been any blood flow to his brain since 8pm the night before. My world shattered!

Will miss you......

He was one of the good ones and I don't understand why he had to go. He will live in my heart and mind forever. He leaves behind two sisters (Courtney-10, Erin-3 months (twin), two brothers (Asa-2, Spencer-3months(twin)), step-father (Randy), and a mother (Suzanne) and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. All that knew him, thought he was the greatest. At his funeral, there was a "sea" of females and he would have loved that. He always thought that he was "Casanova". He made me laugh so much. I love him and miss him so very much. He was my friend, my buddy, my angel, and my HERO.

I love and miss you sweetheart,
Mom
