Eleanor, in her very first 'little black dress'. Try a men's sock, cut to size with arm holes for a sweater for your sphynx kitten if you live in colder climates.
Karina, enjoying the view from above, and offering quality control expertise during our bathroom remodeling adventure. The sphynx always have an opinion. Karina requested a shelf above the window which did not happen.
Home care requirements of the sphynx include bathing, so we get the kittens accustomed to water and shampoo while in our care. Go to our How to give a sphynx cat a bath page to see the process. It is a small amount of time well spent, providing another opportunity for bonding, and a refreshing feeling for the kitten.
Elliott, enjoying a rest on the recliner. He's been with us for over ten years now, and never skips a meal.
Hairless cats as well as the less-exotic varieties enjoy vertical space and gazing from above. Here, Charlotte is heading to a seat in the stands. The 'ladder' is nothing more than a 2x4 covered with sisal rope, connecting a low spot to the highest seat in the house. Visit the home improvement store in your area (we used Home Depot in Alabama) to get all materials and make it yourself. It is an easy, inexpensive, fun afternoon project and one that your cat will enjoy.
Sweet Alexis, resting in a crate. She rests quietly, but speaks LOUDLY, because sphynx kittens like to be heard and will demand your attention.
Sleeping arrangements were made. Introduction of a kitten to a house with adult cats requires some planning. Cats are emotional animals, and the adults can easily be stressed excessively. When you bring a kitten home, remember to spend extra time with the animals you have already loved for a long time, so that they do not feel left out. Treat them well, and they will soon accept the baby.
Grace, our beloved cornish rex. She is 14 years old. Skinny, to be sure, but not frail. And, believe it or not, she loves to eat. We wish we were blessed with her metabolism rate.
Cute kittens, five weeks old.
Demonstrating her hunting talents. The sphynx love other playmates, your company, and toys. Busy balls and colorful mice are a big hit around here.
Curious about my beautiful birthday flowers from Doug, eh?.
Showing off her bare assets.
Sparky as boy.
Example of a nonhairless kitten named Bonnie. She weighs 13 ounces (dry). Pet quality here, a little too much hair, and loved by Meg.
Welcome sphynx babies. The newborn sphynx fits on an index card. He is blind, but still able to navigate around his new house, and home in on the nutrition. Amazing. What a joy.
Same litter as above, at three weeks.
An oxymoron.
