When I first became interested in the field of computer programming, I set out to find a language that allowed you to build Windows programs very quickly and easily. I also did not want to have to spend a lot of time to figure out how to get started and make my first program.
I tried a lot of different languages, but I never found one that did exactly what I wanted a beginner programming language to do. I made it my goal that when I had enough knowledge of programming, I would set out to create the language I never found.
From that idea, the Leopard project began in early 2001. Since it's beginning, the language has developed into a useful tool for complete beginners. I have received e-mails from a large number of people who because of using Leopard are now interested in learning more complex languages such as Visual BASIC and C++.
This has always been my motive with this product - to get people interested in programming and to allow them to have fun doing it.
I have decided to make it free so that everyone that wants to can easily try and enjoy it.
