A Webquest for Grade One and Two

Hello Kids! Do you ever wonder why your parents tell you
to do things and you have no idea why???
They want you to be safe. This
webquest will help you understand the importance of safety and how to be safe
in different environments. We are going
to have fun sniffing out some great safety sites that will get your nose
working! By the end of this webquest
you will be a top-notch safety hound.
Each group will:

you did on your information page.
Zone Two: Fire Safety

Play protect
your home game write in your information book what you learned. Go through the
safety checklist and write down the things that you need to do at home to be
safe.

Sparky’s ABC’s of Fire safety. Try the
different activities and keep the printouts in your book so the other zone’s
can learn how important fire safety is.
Zone 3: Internet Safety

You will need
to rescue Goofy, Donald, and Minnie from virus caves, mean manners cliff, and
the no privacy beach. After you rescue
them at each stop you will take a little quiz to see what you have learned
about Internet safety, you need to write these down in your notebook so you can
teach the others. When you are done you
need to print off your certificate for your book.

Go to the
print hut and print off the top ten smart surfing tips for your information
book and print off one activity sheet for the class to do when you teach them
about Internet safety.

4: Traffic Safety

Draw a picture of a traffic signal and label the colors
of the signal with the meaning.
Go On a Snappy

Go
on a Snappy Safari and Take the Buckle-Up pledge, make sure you print your
certificate.
The
Process:
These
are the steps you should follow:
1. Your teacher will assign you to a group and
your group will be assigned a zone.
2. Your group will work together to create a
book about the things that you have learned at your Internet Sites. (You will
be teaching the other groups later on in the assignment.)
3. Follow the directions under your assigned
zone.
4. Your group will gather all the printed
materials and information and create a book that will be turned in to the
teacher for a grade.
5. Your group will give a presentation on what
you learned at your websites and “teach the class.”
Evaluation:
Your work will be
checked in these ways:
1. A “Teamwork” score sheet.
2. The book that your group creates, proving
you are a Safety Hound.
