"Ligiran, where are you going?" Girronal cried, running after the young elf, trying not to trip over his own red beard.
"I'm going after that rogue mage! We can deal with the elf later!"
"Do you have any idea where you're going?"
"No! Hurry up!! The city's in jeopardy!!" Ligiran shouted.
"I'm going as fast as I can. It's not my fault I have short legs!" the dwarf called. The two ran throughout the ciy until they reached a junction. "What do we do now?"
"I sense distress in both paths. It seems as if we must split up. You go right and I'll go left," Ligiran said.
"Alright. You be careful," the dwarf replied.
"Same to you, friend." With that, the two parted ways.
"This is Watertide? What's going on?" Riant asked Ulinae.
"I sense a great disturbance here. This Blank Mage fella you speak of is most likely here."
"And if he's here...then Myna must be here too!"
"Ulinae, can you sense where he is exactly?" Jeremy asked.
"No I can't. I sense his aura all around the palace. I don't sense any of my people. They all must have evacuated," Ulinae said, holding her trident.
"You're right...I sense it too..." Jeremy said. "And I sense other beings. One of them is an elf."
"We have so many things to take care of here: find the Blank Mage, rescue Myna, stop the rogue mages, find this elf Jeremy's speaking of, and bringing the people back," Oriona said.
"We have no choice. We must split up," Riant said. "Oriona, you and Blandir fight the rogue mages. Can you handle it?"
"No problem," Oriona said, twirling her lance.
"Mommy..." Blandir replied.
"Trasalia and Liami, you two search for survivors and this mysterious elf. Ulinae, gather the people together. Jeremy and I will find Myna. Meet back here once we're done with our assignments," Riant ordered. "Good luck everyone." With that, everyone parted ways.
"I'm close. I can feel it. I hope Girronal's alright. We're running out of time," Ligiran said, slowly walking through the corridor. Suddenly, he saw a dimmed light through a chamber door. The young elf approached the door with caution. He slowly gripped the knob and turned it. "That's funny. It's not locked..." The doors slowly opened by themselves and Ligiran entered the dimmed room. He spotted four candles on the floor and between them all was a crystal mirror.
"What is up with this?" He tip-toed toward the mirror, sensing great magic from it and trying not to disturb it. He never knew what could happen if he did so. He stepped passed the first two candles and he caught glimpse of something within the mirror. A young girl in fact, suspended in time within the mirror. "Oh my gods!!! How could she...?!"
"Die rogue mages!! Die!!!" Girronal shouted, swinging his chain mace around the mages. They all dropped like flies, but more were coming. "How many was that? Number 25? This is endless!!"
"Hold on little dwarf!!!" Girronal looked back and saw a centaur warrior leap into the air, swinging her large lance around the mages. Another man was following her, slicing mages up as well. "Are you alright?"
"I don't need your help. I am Girronal Stonehart!!"
"I'm Oriona Karen."
"Karen? Are you related to Lorianshu Karen?!"
"You know him? He was my father!!" Oriona replied.
"I can't believe it!! Fighting in battle alongside the daughter of the great Lorianshu!!" he cried, jumping for joy.
"I could use a little help here!!" Blandir cried, mages crowding around him.
"Let's get into this later! Time to kick some mage butt!!"
"Jeremy, do you where he is?" Riant asked. They approached the same junction that Ligiran and Girronal approached moments ago.
"I sense the elf that way," Jeremy said, pointing at his left. The two ran down the corridor until they stopped hearing talking.
"Miss! Wake up miss!" Ligiran shouted to the mirror. She remained motionless. "Why are you in there?" No response. "Can you hear me? My name is Ligiran Greenwood!" She remained frozen and he sighed. "Don't worry miss! I'll end your troubles!!" he shouted, hopping back. He pulled out a wooden bow from his belt and a wooden arrow. He pulled the arrow back and aimed at the mirror.
"No!! Stop it!!" Ligiran glanced back and saw anothe elf pounce on him
"Get off me!!"
"Shut up!! What were you trying to do? Kill her?!" the elf shouted.
"I was trying to free her!!"
"Riant, what are to do with this kid?" the elf asked.
"Do whatever you please to him Jeremy. I have to save Myna!" Riant said, racing to the mirror. "Myna!! Wake up!! It's me!"
"I don't think she can hear us!! That's why I was trying to break the mirror to free her!!" Ligiran shouted. Jeremy slapped the young elf in the head.
"How dense are you? That mirror is pure magic. Break the mirror, you kill Myna!!"
"There has to be another way!" Riant cried.
"Only I can free her." The three turned to face...
"Blank Mage!! Leave Myna alone!"
"Why should I do that? I haven't even began to use her yet," the evil rogue mage replied. Jeremy finally leapt off of Ligiran and ran by Riant's side.
"What do you plan to do to to Myna?" the half-elf demanded. The Blank Mage was the only one who noticed her eyes beginning to open and he laughed.
"Oh good. She's awake. Now she can her comrades perish before her very eyes." Riant gasped seeing Myna pound against the mirror, trying to reach them.
"What is Myna to you?!" the prince demanded.
"You'll know soon enough."
"We meet again, Blank Mage," Ligiran said, approaching the mage.
"You!! That ignorant elf who fought alongside that centaur warrior during the wars!!"
"That's right. I'm surprised you remembered me. I nearly forgot you!" Ligiran said, pulling back another arrow.
"I see you haven't learned your lesson yet. Very well then," the mage said. He held out his hand and Ligiran was suddenly frozen in place. "I'll begin with you. I'm surprised your dwarf friend isn't with you."
"Leave the elf alone!!" Riant shouted, charging at the mage, sword in hand. The mage's eyes glowed red and Riant was engulfed in lightning. Jeremy tried to pull Riant away, but he was getting electrocuted as well. Jeremy tried to ignore the pain as much as possible as he began pulling Riant away.
Myna was appaled at what she saw. Her heart couldn't take seeing her comrades easily defeated like that. From her magic space, she backed up and poured all of her powers together in her mind. She closed her eyes and dashed towards them.
The shattering of glass tore the Blank Mage's concentration apart. Ligiran collapsed to the ground and Jeremy and Riant found that the thunder magic had vanished. Riant looked up and saw Myna falling towards him. She was crying his name and he held out his arms. Myna fell into his arms and Jeremy ran to their side. "Good, she's alright."
"Well Blank Mage. You've failed. What are you going to do now?" Riant growled.
"Ah, but the question should be how you will get out alive?" the mage said before vanishing into thin air once again. The ground began to rumble and the chamber began to flash.
"I knew there was something fishy about this chamber!! It's an illusion!!" Ligiran shouted. "We have to get out of here!!" Riant lifted Myna into his arms and Jeremy opened the doors.
"Hold on Myna," Riant said.
"Alright. I will!" she replied.
"The whole corridor is magic and it's dispelling!! We have to hurry and get out of here!" Ligiran cried. The three ran out of the chamber and through the corridor, dodging falling debris as it fell to the ground.
"That mage is clever, making this all an illusion! No wonder none of the other mages wandered in here! We were foolish enough to do so!!" Jeremy shouted.
"So Myna was bait all along to kill us?" Riant asked.
"That's my best guess!!"
"We're almost there!!" Ligiran shouted. Ligiran and Jeremy raced out, but then a magic wall appeared behind them. "Oh no!"
"Riant!! Myna!!" Jeremy cried, trying to break the wall, but couldn't. "Damn him!! Damn that mage!!!"
"Jeremy!!!" The half-elf faced Oriona, Blandir, and a little dwarf. "The rogue mages suddenly left. What's wrong?"
"It's Riant and Myna!!"
"They're behind that wall! And that corridor is about to crumble!" Ligiran cried. "And we can't break it!!"
"Oh no!! Riant!! Myna!!" Oriona cried, hearing a loud snap behind the wall.
"What are we going to do? The magic's dispelling!! They'll be lost forever!!" Girronal shouted.
"Stand back everyone!!" Everyone parted from a young elven girl with long red hair and in a light blue outfit. Ligiran gasped, finally realizing that she was the elf that he was sensing, not Jeremy. She did weird circular patterns with his arms and hands and a large creature that looked like a dark wolf roared in front of her. The creature ran through the wall and suddenly the magic floor underneath Riant and Myna disappeared. The wolf-like summon leapt after them and they grabbed onto the wolf, though it was entirely magic, it felt like a real wolf. The summon flew into the air back where the elven girl was and disappeared.
"Oh thank the gods you two are alright!!" Oriona cried.
"Who are you?" Ligiran asked the elven girl.
"My name is Karencalthena Arrowsoul. I saw you all fighting those mages and just as you, I was caught in battle."
"What was that thing you sent after them?" Girronal asked.
"It was one of my summons, and I have plenty more where that came from!"
"Wait a minute, Oriona, who's the little dwarf?" Jeremy asked.
"He is Girronal Stonehart who fought alongside my father. Who's the other elf you have with you?"
"That's my partner, Ligiran Greenwood. He too fought alongside your father. The two of us have been through many battles together," Girronal explained.
"Is it over?" Everyone faced princess Ulinae who ran towards them.
"Yes, it's over. Everyone can come back," Riant replied. Ulinae nodded, but then Riant faltered.
"Riant! What's wrong?" Myna asked, catching him.
"I feel...dizzy...and weak...what's wrong...with me?" he stuttered before passing out in her arms.
"Oh no. Not this. Hey you!" Karencalthena shouted at Ulinae. "Get him to the doctor, now!!!!"
