Well as many of you know, we had been struggling to come up with a name the whole pregnancy.  There is just so much pressure to come up with a name that's perfect for a baby.  So we started looking through various books and asking friends for ideas.  

That's when we realized that we could take advantage of the internet.  We created a posting board for people to suggest their favorite girl name.

We suddenly realized that some of our friends where real comedians. The funny thing was we really like what people were suggesting.  It gave us a lot to think about.  In fact we were able to come up with a top 10 list of favorite name  suggestions.  We created an on-line poll and within days the poll was flooded with votes.  We were once again overwhelmed by the responses.

As the months went by, we decided that we weren't going to pick any of the on-line names.  We wanted to surprise everyone with a name of our own.

We first decided that her middle name would named after a family member.  Just like Madison Fae was named after Laurel's grandmother, Adele was the name of Kenny's grandmother.

But as we kept checking back on the votes, one name started to climb the poll and caught our attention.  Ashlyn, a name suggested by Aunt Gayle (Kenny's sister). We just couldn't stop thinking about it.  But we were still undecided.  We made our final decision 5 minutes after she was born!

As an added bonus, we realized that her initials AAG had a special meaning.  An "ag" is another name for "Aggie".  And an "Aggie" is someone who went to Texas A&M University!

Also, now we can say that the "A" and "M" in Texas A&M stand for Ashlyn and Madison. :)
