Moonside 2.0 News
Hey all, sorry to say I procrastinated again, so no interviews this
week. I am going to try to go bi-weekly with the newsletters now that I
have less time to compose them. More website sections are expected when
I have time... Anyone who wants to help out is welcome to do so!
PlayStation 2 hits in Less than a Month
Yes, thats right, the long awaited sequel to one of the most
successful gaming systems of all time will launch on October 26th...
the same day as the new Zelda game! MANY launch titles to choose from,
so if you're interested, definately look into this one. I am especially
looking forward to The Bouncer from Square and Kessen...
Also, the DVD capabilities cannot be ignored. Games and movies? This
should make for an interesting Christmas...

Ranks Update: New Ranks are in!!! Just because the upper ranks are not
filled up doesn't mean you are not worthy of the position!!! I thought
it would be a good idea to start the ranks near the bottom so
promotions and demotions will be easier to chart. (Instead of, say some
one being randomly chosen near tohe top of the ranks, and then cannot
be necessarily promoted...) So don't be mad if you are a Sentry Robot,
and someone who put in the same amount of effort as you is a Cafe
Regular. Ranks should change drastically over the next few weeks...

I have done something
worthy of a promotion
In the club, you are
promoted and demoted according to your behavior and participation. I'll
be straight with you: If you don't do anything, you won't be demoted.
Yes I meant to write DEmoted. I understand if you just want to join the
club and read newsletters. I used to do that when I was in other clubs.
If you purposely try to harm the club, you will be demoted, and only
then. You can be promoted though, and with promotion comes great
happiness! Here are the top five things you can do to get promoted:
1. Send me an old
Moonside Newsletter: Promoted 3 Ranks!
2. Recruit 5 members: Promoted 1 Rank
3. Advertise on EB Message Boards: Promoted 1 Rank (If i get more
members because of the ad, you are promoted again) Note: I have no AOL,
so I cannot do this anymore = VERY IMPORTANT.
4. Help find other clubs to advertise with: Promoted Once
5. Help with Web Design and Logos: Twice Promoted
You need to notify me of your accomplishment though, did you think that
a promotion would come automatically?!? I would prefer you send old
Newsletters, or help with logos!!! ~Red

Here is a review of the Squaresoft title Xenogears for the Playstation
console. This is a game that came out in 1998, and is critically
acclaimed by many of even the hardest to impress RPG gamers.
Note: My scale is always fair, if something is junk. I will not
hesitate to say it is. A 10, really does mean a 10. And is very hard to
achieve.
Graphics: 8, the graphics for Xenogears, are quite impressive.
They are not the 3D blocky structures of other Squaresoft titles such
as Final Fantasy VII. They are reminiscent of the SNES RPG's quality
drawn graphics. The anime scenes are nicely done, yet not plentiful
enough. The graphics are nice, but nothing groundbreaking.
Replay: 5, you will love to play this game over and over until
you get near the end, it declines tremendously and you might lose
interest for awhile. When (if?) you beat this game, you probably won't
go back to play it again right away. Probably won't ever unless you are
tremendously impressed or have too much free time.
Fun: 7, this game is pretty fun. The plot is strong and complex
which should appeal to RPG game players in their teens. The battle
systems is easily learned and quite fun to watch the special attacks,
as well as attacking in your gears. The characters are well done and
likeable. This game is fun, but there are better out there.
GamePlay: 9, combinations, spells, gear fighting, manuvering
about, and the entire interface is very well done. It does not detract
in any way from the game, and you should be able to learn this game
easily.
Quality: 9, Squaresoft did not just rush out this title. They
spent some time on this game. While it has its flaws, they are
certainly not enough to detract an RPG game player from buying this
game.
Overall: 8, this game should be in the library of video games
for people who are into Anime and/or RPG's. Others should avoid it.

Conclusion
Wow, on time this week! Hopefully, the website will continue to
grow in the coming weeks, but don't expect me to spend too much time on
the club now because I am real busy with other things. Newsletters will
now go bi-weekly, so the next one shouldn't arrive in your mailbox
until around October 15th. That means it will be twice as good and
their will be much news to report. For those of you who are waiting to
buy a PS2 or Zelda: Majora's Mask, the wait is almost over. Me? Well,
I'm waiting for the anticipated Final Fantasy IX to arrive on shelves
sometime aroung November 18th. Until then, keep doing that thing you
do, and If i see a member increase over the next couple of weeks,
expect good things...
