Umbran n. This species is an aberration in the galaxy created by Imperial scientists under the rule of Palpatine. In an effort to suppress growing feelings of revolt during the earliest stages of the Empire, Palpatine initiated a plan to insert Imperial agents, which turned out to be more like sentient weapons, among the hotbed planets bordering on political dissent. Rather than using brute force he opted for subtlety and cunning, but to such a degree that an entire new race would have to be created. Hence, the Umbrans would be born to facilitate the clandestine nature of the necessary assassinations. The result was a veritable killing machine that was also intelligent, willful, and cunning. Utterly black skin, hairless heads, gleaming red eyes, and elongated canines complete the aggressive look of this species.
