For the person
new to Angora fiber :
OUR Angora Rabbits are harvested on a regular shedule
, at the time of moulting / shedding of the
wool.
In order to prevent wool block and to get my hands on the precious fibers, I clip and/ or
pluck our bunnies and layer the wool in boxes for resale or my personal use.
Angora Rabbits are " harvested " much like sheep, the bunny does not have to be
killed or
experience pain during wool removal. Only
wool harvested from the Angora Rabbit can be called
Angora wool , fiber from the " Angora sheep " is called " mohair ".
Angora wool
is 7 times warmer then wool from sheep, it resists moisture and is somewhat water
proof.
Angora
wool is available in white and many natural colors , and it can be dyed into any
color with
chemical Acid dyes or natural dyes.
Angora wool is not very hard
to spin and when harvested and spun correctly, the yarn will not shed.
Shedding occurs when short, second cuts are left in the wool and spun, the short pieces of
hair fall
out of the yarn. I have been hand spinning Angora
wool and other fibers for 4 years now , on my
Ashford Traditional spinning wheel , and have experimented with several nice blends
of Angora
wool with other fibers .
Angora /
kid mohair is shiny and beautiful, angora / merino adds body . I use white and colored
wool,
I also love to dye my wool with wash fast acid dyes and do special dye lots for customers.
Our Angora wool is shipped nation wide. I sell only clean , matt and web free wool which
is boxed in
cardboard boxes ( batts of carded Angora wool ) or bagged in large plastic bags of 1 ounce
of wool
each ( for raw fleece ) . This wool is free of second cuts and only the prime coat is
sold. Length
averages 3-6 inches.
We have some 60 dye colors to choose from, we dye on order and prepayment for a
minimum of 2 ounces is neccessary. Name your colors and we do the rest :)

spinning lessons for interested crafters willing to spend a few hours at our Farm. Average
lesson to learn spinning on a wheel will take 2 -4 hours . Lessons on fiber preparation,
dyeing and such are also available. Contact me for prices and availability.

Short sleeved sweater blouse for an elegant evening out . Size 6 ( small ),
the body of this sweater was crochet with rows of 100 % white French Angora , hand spun
yarn , and alternating rows of white, shiny rayon yarn. The edging is hand crochet
in lattice work. The sleeves are light and airy, knit in a lace pattern and edged
with crochet lattice work. The front is buttoned and has small, white flower

Angora
Baby Jacket / Hat set
This set for a beloved child will fit infants 6 - 12 months of age. Color is
Lavender , with white buttons. The Jacket is fashioned from a blend of 50 % French
Angora, 50 % Baby Alpaca , handspun and dyed in wash fast acid dyes. Both items where hand
knit, and finished with a crochet edge and buttons. The sleeves are folded up for
smaller children, and let down as the child grows. The Jacket is very flexible and
will stretch to fit older children. The hat is knit in alternating rows of lavender and
white yarn. 3 buttons match the buttons on the Jacket. Care : hand wash

Multi
colored Baby Jacket with Hat
This special Jacket will make any baby boy or girl the talk of the town . The garment was
handknit from a special fiber blend that was dyed prior to spinning, and the contents are
: Angora, Silk, Merino and Lamb wool. The wool is very soft and can be owrn
next to the skin. The jacket has more colors then a rainbow, you will find
specks of blue, purple, yellow, white, gray, green and red. Alternating rows of a solid
colored ( wine ) merino / silk blend compliment the rainbow colors of the Jacket.

was made from 100 % French Angora yarn that was first hand spun , then dyed in a rainbow
of wine / magenta and navy / purple. The yarn was knit in an open lattice type stich
, which makes the pattern very flexible and soft. This shawl can be worn as a

This is a sample of our unique mittens. This pair is made from 100 %
handspun, natural black French Angora Yarn , with a cuff of blue merino silk
blend. This pair will fit an adult - small size hand. Very comfortable, very
