LOWMAN FAMILY HISTORY

The Germany name means Forest Dweller or Forest man.

There are at least three different Lowman families. One came from the area of Wells England. A second group came from Holland and my Lowman family comes from Germany. Most Dutch spell their name with an H as in Lahmann. All English Lowmans spell it Lowman. As to the Germans you will find any number of spellings. The original Germany spelling was Lauman or Laumann. Some still spell it that way. In North Carolina many started to spell it Lowman. In Georgia we see Larman first appear. You will also see several other minor short-lived variations.

Following, you will find several Lowmans from my Family tree. Once I get all of my family posted, I will be looking to post other Lowman Histories and links to make this a centralized Lowman research resource.
