Which Do I Need to Attend: Lessons or a Stroke Clinic?
Emory Lessons
ECSC Lessons offers private lessons as well as small group lessons for all ages and ability levels of swimmers. When looking for a swimming instructor, you probably want someone who knows what they're doing. That won't be a problem at Emory! All ECSC instructors are members of Emory's Varsity Swimming Team, the two time defending UAA conference champions. ECSC Lessons will help your swimmer:
Improve stroke technique
Become more familiar with the water
Learn valuable swimming skills
Get one stroke ahead of the competition
Now, we realize that being a good swimmer doesn't necessarily make you a good teacher. That's why the instructors at ECSC are handpicked for their ability and experience in teaching swimming. Your child will be patiently led through step-by-step drills that develop and enhance their swimming technique. You won't find a better learning environment for your child!
Ask about one of several stroke clinics for the summer of 2000!
ECSC Stroke Clinics arose from ECSC lessons because students expressed a desire to learn in a group setting. While instructors are always available to demonstrate in the water, some swimmers gain more knowledge of swimming when working in a group setting, observing others of similar skill levels. ECSC Stroke Clinics offer this opportunity. Stroke Clinics focus on adults who already have basic to intermediate knowledge of swimming and want to refine and perfect their strokes. Often lap-swimmers or tri-athletes take advantage of this program although all are welcome. For the 2000 summer stroke clinics will be opened for the summer-league swimmer who wants to improve swimming technique, with different clinics focusing on different strokes. If we still don't offer what you need, give us a call and we'll see what we can do!
Tom and Bill work on keeping a low student to instructor ratio. ECSC's Clinic includes a stroke by stroke progress report, that you can take home with you, to further improve your swimming technique and enjoyment. This report will consist of points which you need to focus on as well as your instructor's hints and tips for correction. Clinics are usually offered once a semester so if interested be sure to contact us early before spaces fill up.
